"He's a nightmare," I was complaining to Charlotte over the pig we were disecting.
"Well he looked pretty dreamy," she shot me a look over her goggles, "and totaly into you."
I made a face at her, although truth was... he wasn't that bad. Looks-wise anyway.
And when I say he wasn't that bad... I mean he's was pretty darn attractive. He was tall and lean-- toned... very toned. You could tell he wroked out. He sported messy black hair, and deep, dark charcol eyes that never missed a thing, yet revield nothing.
"Thinkin' 'bout him?" Charlottle nudged me making my scalpel fall out of my hand and clatter to the lab table.
Giggling she turned her attention back to the pig.

One feeling I could always appriciate was the feeling you got when you finished all of your homework the night it was assigned so that was didn't have to go worrying about which class you'd finish it in the following day.
It was 8:15 and I had just finished all of my homework. More or less it was still pretty early, so I grabbed a yoohoo from the fridge and sat down to call Zion. No matter how much I detested to admit it, it had been on my mind all day. I consoled myself by telling myself that I was only thinking about it so much because I was studious and wanted to get my project done.
Pfft. I mean obviously that was the reason.
So I slipped the post-it I had copied his number to during study hall and dailed him up.
But when I heard the cheerful "Hiya!" I realized I'd been punked.
"So, um this is Darleen, just leave me a message at the beep!"
I pulled my cell away from me slowly, glared at it for a little bit, then very angrily ended the call.
Stupid guy.

It was Friday morning. This is the fact I used to coax myself out of bed the next morning. Only one more day until the weekend.
I had spent the rest of the night brooding because of a certain male, and planning how I would tell him off today. It's not like he didn't deserve it.
I dragged myself out of bed and stepped into the shower, hoping the hot water would revitalize me instead of put me to sleep. After a good fifteen minutes I stepped out, grabbed my towel and made my way back to my room. Picking out a random shirt from some old basketball tournament, a pair of light wash skinny jeans, and my favourite sneakers, I slipped into them, ran some concealer under my eyes and piled my hair up to go.
One thing about Charlotte is that she could be completely obnoxious, despite her shy, and reserved appearence. Thus her honking loudly as I stepped onto my porch and locked my door behind me. I Usain Bolted* my way to her car just so that she'd stop sitting on the horn.
"Sheesh! Char, do you not appreciate rest? Are you trying to wake the neighborhood? The dead?!" I implored sarcastically whilst throwing myself into her beat up bug.
She laughed airily and rolled her pretty blue eyes at me, "Shutup Kenz, you know you live in the middle of no where."
This was true. When we moved here my family was actually still all together and not split up like some old boyband. Kevin had yet to go to college, mom and dad were still... tolerating eachother and it was basically all good. Dad had wanted to move to a pretty secluded area for some reason. Well actually-- I'm not gonna act like I don't know why. He wanted to move somewhere all isolated to keep my secret, our secret. My mom was totally passive to the idea. She really could not give a flying frick. Which was strange, cause around then she had always been trying to find something to disagree about with my dear old Pa.

RomanceHe was bad. Bad to the bone. But somehow good for me. Sure, I got good grades, had upstanding morals, respectable friends, a nice home, and played on a varsity team. Yeah, I had a mom who cared-- well sorta, and a dad who might've, if he had stuck a...
