When the Sun Dies

Chapter One

~1st Pov~
Mom?
". . . .mom please wake up." My mother, I hadn't known then but she wouldn't wake up at all because of her. " Mom this isn't funny anymore please . . . WAKE UP . . . SOMEONE ANYONE HELP ME"

I woke up and I could feel sweet dripping down my face. It was cold, the sun was shining in my face and I could hear the birds sing songs I've never heard . I looked at my 'home', it was a warehouse that people kept their stuff in.I usually unboxed the stuff and if I got lucky it could be something useful, this time I found a really old bed . I got up, then dressed into my clothes and left to venture out to who knows where.

TIMESKIP

I was walking down the streets of Gotham. I looked around for something to eat but I had no money and I couldn't find a job, my life was just perfect . I looked over my shoulder analyzing the area and saw a pizza place.  I sat at one of the outside tables, taking in the scene of Gotham . It was a little cold to day and all I wore was a black tshirt , black jeans , and black shoes that where pretty worn out. I was really tired, since I usually never get sleep because of my ' dreams.' I laid my head down on the cold table and stayed there for a few minutes. I then felt something warm being put down in front of me. I slowly looked up, my vision was a little blurry due to my hunger. "Thank you" I said to who ever it was and started to eat. The pizza started to warm my cold body. As I finished my slice of pizza, I watched people walk by, happy and not a care in the world. They think that everything is fine, that nothing is going to hurt them, and that the justice league will protect them from every bad thing in the world. I took another bite of my pizza and placed it on the plate. I couldn't stop thinking about what I could've done to help my mom. I closed my eyes and let out a sigh. Blurry images of my mother's face, crying out and the smirk that vile woman gave to me quickly corrupted my mind. I snapped opened my eyes, shaking slightly. I quickly scanned the area, relief flooding me, nothing bad seemed to be happening. "Why should I worry, that's the reason why the Justice League exists, just to help people..." I pushed the plate o the side and laid my head down on the table, trying to relax. I couldn't help but feel as if something bad was going to happen, not to the city, but to me.

"Asher Grayson Polymer, he is your target" I stated, as I sent the siblings an image of the young male. I could both of them narrow their eyes at the screen as they read the sent information. "He looks weak" "Allistor! For once, shut up!" The males younger sister, Marian, cried out. "It's quite alright, it's actually true" both of them gave a surprised look as they looked through the the camera. "Then what's the point of us being here?" Allistor narrowed his eyes, with obvious annoyance in his green eyes. I chuckled at his statement "for now he is in a weaken state, he isn't able to control his...outstanding abilities." The red haired male opened his mouth, most likely to snap at me but his younger sister quickly clamped his mouth shut with her pale hand. "Are we target him now, sir?" "Why do you think I assigned you here?" She gave a quick nod "thank you for time sir" as she ended the chat, I couldn't help but notice Allistor's glare towards me. I know just how much he hates it when Marian forces him to take jobs such like this one. Perhaps it'll be a useful factor for later. "Allistor King and Marian King, blood siblings separated by birth and founded each other at a auction, about to self off the young female" "so you've done your research? I'm surprised you're interested" even if I wasn't facing him, I could sense his smirk. "They're a prime example on just how greedy humans are" "that, I cannot deny" I admitted, knowing just how selfish the humans race could be. "But I doubt that the reason why you have such interest, could it be you're interested in the female?" The other male scoffed "me? Of course not" a chuckle escaped me "I don't believe that but if you came here just to babble, you should leave, I have matters to attend to." A line of curses could be heard from the chaos male as he left the room. "Now" I started as I looked for a certain folder in the computer. "What else can I find about Asher?"
