It's July and about eighty degrees. Today, the tenth, was when the twins both took their first steps! We are still at school because, as I said before, this is a boarding school. When I saw Kai's little feet lift off the floor one after the other and slowly walk to me and fall into my arms. I couldn't help but let a happy tear run down my face and allow a laugh of joy escape from my mouth. Then it was Selene's turn. I called Andrew to come into the nursery to see this amazing new stage in their lives.
He came bounding in just in time to see Selene walk across the nursery to me. Andrew had a look of shock on his face. He slowly knelt down and as he did so Selene started to walk to him. Now I know how my mom and dad felt when I took my first steps.
I emailed my parents about two hours later telling them about the first steps and they emailed me back saying that they were jumping with joy and excitement. I was so glad I could talk to them so easily. It's nice to be just keystrokes away from talking to them. The school we go to is in Minnesota and our parents live in Illinois. It's pretty far away from being at home but at least I get to make new friends. And also get one of the best educations in the nation while learning right beside my two best friends, Keira and Andrew.
