The 'Almost' Kiss

(Alison's Perspective)

*RING RING*

Shoot, the bell rang! My eyes fly open and I grab my books in a hurry. I ran through the door. FREEDOM! I never thought history class could be this boring.

"Ali!"

I turned around to find my eyes on Olivia, a close friend of mine.

"Hey! You're back?" A few months ago, Olivia had to go to New York because of a family emergency. I didn't think she'd be back this early. "Yup, I convinced my mom and dad. I'm staying with my neighbors."

We both walked to our lockers when something hideous came before us. Jake.

Ugh even saying that devil's name makes me want to puke.

"Alison" he uttered in total disgust

"Jake" I replied stressing the 'k'

Jake and his jerktourage were standing in the middle of the hallway, blocking our way.

"Can you and your losers move? You're blocking the hallway.."

"Make me."

"Is that a challenge, Jake?" I said as I studied his reaction. His fists clenched and his eyes narrowed. I took that as a yes. I walked up to him, grabbed him by the ear(yes that is his weak spot) and pulled it until he made his 'gang' move. "Ow! Ow, Ow!" he yelped as I pulled him by the ear. His friends hesitantly moved as I gave them the death glare. I finally let him go and walked to my locker and grabbed my books for my next class. "You'll pay for that, Ali" he called as he walked away. Whatever.

I was walking back from class when I was suddenly jerked to the side. My back hit a locker. "Ow!" I looked up to find myself face to face with Jake. We were so close and I was terrified as my eyes were staring into his intense brown eyes. My heart started beating faster. He was looking at my lips hesitantly. He was leaning in, his arm caging me in. Our lips brushed when-thank the lord- Olivia and Derek, Jake's best friend, both screamed "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU GUYS THINK YOU'RE DOING?!?"
He immediately jumped back. I, on the other hand, was still recovering from shock and stood there frozen. He almost kissed me! If Olivia and Derek hadn't come what would've happened?

Olivia and Derek looked at each other, smirking, then they burst out laughing! They were laughing so hard that their face was red and they were on the ground, holding their stomachs. A wave of heat flashed over my cheeks. I knew I was blushing. I looked over at Jake, his brown eyes just as shocked as I am. His cheeks were red. OMG, was he blushing? Or are his cheeks red from  embarrassment?
