Making Scented Candles

You've decided to just have a quiet evening in for your date, and you'll probably just watch a movie or something, but you still want to make it romantic without spending too much money. Scented candles!!! Although buying the ingredients for these costs more than a scented candle, you can make loads with one batch and still have tons of wax left for more another time, plus it's not messy at all as long as you do it all on a wipe-clean surface. (I didn't get a picture of my candles so the picture I attatched is from a DIY website I used to use all the time. I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.)

Here is what you need:

Soy candle wax Candle wickJarA saucepan and a glass bowl big enough to sit over the potA thermometerOven mitsFragrance oilColorants (optional)Container with spout (optional)

Let's start!!!

Step 1: Begin melting your wax. Melt it in a saucepan with a glass bowl sitting over it. I planned to fill one pint-sized jar, so I melted approximately 14 ounces of soy wax. Melt the wax on low to medium-low heat. Never ever leave melting wax unattended!

Step 2: While it's melting (and while you're keeping an eye on your wax!!! c;), secure your wick to the bottom of your jar.

Step 3: Once your wax is melted, let it cool a little before adding in your colorants (if you want) and fragrances. Wax bought at craft stores will usually come with a guide that recommends a good temperature for adding fragrances and colorants to your wax depending on the type of wax you're using. Some fragrances can lose their scent when added to high-temperature liquids so make sure you check.

Step 4: Pour your wax into your jar and allow it to cool. (nearly finished now!!!)

Step 6: When your wax has fully cooled, trim your wick so it isn't too long, and you're done!!!

There you go!!! You have some scented candles which you can light when your partner comes over to create a romantic atmosphere. I hope you had fun making this :)

Love, Winter =^u^=
