Goodbye

"Kids can you come down here please?"  My mom asked.

Me, Rylie, and Timothy came down the wrought iron stairs.

"Kids, sit down. Your dad got a promotion, but we have to move to Fort Myers, Florida."
"What about Jacob?" I asked, dreading the answer I knew I was going to get.
"You're going to have to break up with him. I know that it's going to be hard since you two have been dating for two years. I'm sorry, this new promotion requires us to go out of state."
"When do we move?"
"Next week."

I walked up to my room and grabbed my S6 edge off my nightstand and called Jacob.
After three rings he picked up.

"Hi, can you come over here for a minute? I need to talk to you."
"What do you want to tell me?"
"It's not something that I want to say over the phone."
"Okay I'll be there in five minutes."

I paced back and forth, feeling nervous.

Ding-dong

I knew that Jacob was behind the door, and that made the tension build up even more.
I took a deep breath and walked out my door. My feet cascaded down the hallway and down the stairs.

I saw Jacob sitting on our bridgewater sofa. I took his hand, the anxiety piling up.

"Can you come into the kitchen for a minute."
"Sure."
"I don't know how to tell you this, but we're moving to Fort Myers, Florida next week.

Jacob and I hugged closer, and kissed one last time.

"Goodbye."
"Goodbye."

Jacob walked out the kitchen door, and that was the last time we saw each other.

   ONE WEEK LATER

"Kids time to go. Let's finish packing." My dad said.

I looked around my room, boxes everywhere I looked.

I grabbed my phone, headphones, and charger. I walked to my door, turned off my light, and walked downstairs. There was about seven movers in our split level.

We all loaded the boxes into a U-Haul.

About twenty minutes later, after everything was in the moving van, the movers drove out of our parking lot. My dad drove out with the U-Haul.
The rest of us were in the minivan. I was in the passenger seat listening to music. Rylie was reading on her Kindle Fire. Timothy was next to her, his Nintendo 3DS blipping.
You'd think I couldn't hear it. Ugh I wish. Rylie didn't have headphones in so...
"TIMOTHY TURN IT DOWN!"
No more blipping.
"Rylie. You don't need to yell at your brother."

Oh what sisters will do.
After a long ride we finally got to our new house.
