We sat in the backyard as I deeply inhaled the smoke into my lungs. The beautiful sun washed over my face warming it from the cold the inside and the mid summer heat reminded me of home. The blue haired girl, May, Seemed so calm as she butted out her smoke the light reflected off her eyes.
"Would you keep telling me more Cain? Or do you wanna stop?"
Her soft voice echoed, It made me smile and telling her seemed so easy.
"Of course" I gruffed while playing at the young vessels hair "Well, that night I woke to my father by my bedside, Holding his sword and for a moment I was scared. And then he spoke, 'Kronos, Son, take this' He said handing his sword to me, 'Never lose it, now you must make me a promise, Never, Not ever one one of their kind again.' His voice became as hollow as his eyes. 'I promise father' were my last words to him before he walked out my room room, I had no clue it'd be the last time I ever spoke to him again."
The words flowed from me like a river that had waited a thousand years to break.
"I'm so insanely sorry Cain, Really I am"
Her little voice came out from the other side of the steps.
"It's fine" I snaped, but calming myself I went on "Anyways, So when I woke up in the morning I found out my father had hung himself in his study and I felt as if I was to blame, So did my siblings. They attacked me, And before I knew it something took over. I lost control, I remember the feeling of my brothers leg beinging removed by my tail. The second I gained some control again I ran, I left that house and I didn't look back, I couldnt"
The words came heavy in my heart.
"So where did you go?" Mays voice asked me as if she thought I would break.
"I decided to go look for some witches I had heard about, I planned to become marked, with the mark of Cain, of course So I began to find my own way, Now it was a far and almost a fully boring walk, Until I came to a small town" I trailed off as I remembered the city walls and how my feet burned from walking.
"Why? What happened there?"
The thought itself brought me happiness.
"I heard of a group of men, There were going about, 'Taking what they wanted from women' and stealing, So I waited and they attacked the city. There were far more then I exspected, About six hundred. I was only meant to warn everyone so we could get the women out of the city. But when they got in I fought and I killed them all. That was another big mistake."
"Why, How could saving lives end up so wrong? Did you kill the king!?" May asked half jokingly half concerned for the out come.
"I'll get to that, Anyhow, They ended up asking me too leave the city, Because despite the fact I saved them I was still a murder. Which I understood. So I left. I went on in screach of the witches. Hoping I could find a reason." standing up I walked away unable to finish with my own words, my own life. So I went for a walk.
