Chapter Six: A Day in with Kou part 2

After failing miserably trying to make a sandwich, Aria sulked off to Kou and his brother's place. She wondered where Arlo could've run off to, leaving her to look after his little brother.

"Riaaa! I've made you a sandwich and some orange juice." Kou announced, handing her the sandwich in hand and a plastic bottle. How strange, no tableware.

"Thank-you. What's in them."she asked, lifting up the slice of bread.

"I didn't know what you would like so I just put some cheese* in it."he grinned.

*if you didn't know, a cheese sandwich is common in the UK

*if you didn't know, a cheese sandwich is common in the UK. It is usually given to children.

"Ah, much appreciated."thanked Aria. She wondered if the rumours were true that the poorer folk mixed chalk with cheese to stop the grated pieces from separating.

Haa! Harry would know. He's perfect.

Aria scolded herself for thinking such thoughts. He doesn't love you anymore, Aria. Quit fangirling.

"Huh?"

"Never mind."

After taking a sip of the orange juice from the bottle, as she couldn't find a cup, she found out that it didn't really taste like oranges. It had a slightly metallic taste to it. That was the pain of being rich, you don't know what you have until it is taken away from you.

Aria finished and threw the plastic bottle into the bin.

"Hey, what time is it, Ria?"he yawned.

"Last time I checked in the kitchen it was four. So it should be around five now." Aria shrugged.

"Uh-oh, that means I have to brush my teeth around now."he visibly gulped and looked down.

"What's wrong with that?"

"Uhh...promise you don't tell big brother, kay?" Aria nodded. "Well, my mouth gets really achy after."

"Maybe you brush too hard."

"I don't, and big brother wouldn't like me anymore if I had cavities."he was about to cry again, she didn't want that again.

"Hey, if you want, I'll let you use some of my fancy toothpaste?"she cooed. Aria had taken some of the hotel toothpastes that were provided. It was kind of a last minute thing.

"Can you brush my teeth for me?"he asked, a pleading look in his eyes. She nodded and brushed his teeth for him in the bathroom. She was surprised that there was only one on every floor and so many people lived in the building.

It was such a small place as well. Three sinks, toilets and Kou told her that there were communal showers downstairs. She couldn't imagine washing next to someone without a divider. This was shocking for Aria. Had they no shame?!
