Imagine for Emily:

You’re sitting at your boyfriend, Josh’s house waiting for him to come home. He always stayed out late. He told you he just had to work, but you always figured he was just with friends. It was past 2 a.m. when he finally barged through the door.

“Josh!” you screeched, jumping up and running into his arms. He quickly hugged you then shoved you – a little too rough – away. He walked away into the kitchen, leaving you standing there confused and rubbing your arm where he pushed you, knowing you’d probably get another bruise.

Josh always shoved you and stuff, but only when he was drunk. Like always, you decided to let it go.

“W-Where have you been?” you stuttered, walking after him.

“None of your goddamn business, Emily.” He snapped.

“You were drinking weren’t you...?”

“Yeah, as a matter of fact I was!” he looked at you and gave an evil smirk. “Watcha gonna do? Tell me I can’t?”

You looked down to the floor and shook your head. You tried to hold back the tears. You hated when he was like this. You just hated it.

“So!” he said loudly. Taking a can of beer out of the fridge and chugging it all down within seconds before going on. “Why don’t we go upstairs and...” he slowly started to walk towards you. “Have fun.”

You looked up. He KNEW not to go this far. He knew you didn’t want to go to that stage yet and not anytime soon.

“Josh...” you said as he put his hands on your hips, slowly trying to pull your shirt up as he kissed your neck. “Josh, stop!” you screamed, pulling away.

“What the fuck is wrong with you.” He laughed, and then all of a sudden turned serious. “I’m you’re....uh, boyfriend, and we love each other,” he could barely get his words out, he was so drunk. “Let’s s-s-show it.”

He started walking towards you again but you backed up. He looked at you with eyes full of hate.

“Well damn, Kate sure as hell isn’t like this.” He slightly smiled at you evilly again.

You looked up at him. “Kate...?”

“The girl I fucked tonight! HA, every night actually!” he looked at you and said, “Let’s do it too, yeah?”

You felt your face turn red and your eyes water up.

“YOU FUCKING CHEATED ON ME?!?! THAT’S WHAT YOU’VE BEEN DOING ALL THIS TIME?!” You screamed at him.

“Jeez, calm down!” he said, coming back to his senses. “I was just joking?”

But you could see in his eyes that he WASN’T joking. “NO JOSH NO! Were DONE! I’m DONE with you!” you stormed off to the dining room and grabbed your purse. You tried to open the door but he blocked it with his arm.

“Now, where do you think you’re going, huh?”

“To Justin’s, got a problem?” you said.

“Actually yeah! You’re staying here.”

“No, I don’t think I am. But don’t worry, you have ‘Kate’!” You pushed him out of the way and ran to your car. You quickly started it and drove away. Right when the engine turned on, the tears started to pour down your face.

When you finally got to Justin’s house, you walked right inside. Alarmed, he looked to see who it was. When he saw you there – eyes huge and face red – he got up. You ran into his arms.

“J-J-Justin!” you stuttered, crying into his chest.

“Shh, Em, shh!” he soothed, stroking your hair and back. He walked you over to the couch and sat down.

“What happened?” he whispered once you’re crying stopped a little. You lifted your head up and looked into his eyes.

“Josh...He cheated on me.” You looked down to the ground, all of a sudden feeling better now that you were with Justin. He always somehow made you feel better by Just being right there next to you.

“Oh” is all he said. You laid your head back on his shoulder as he softly continued to rub up and down your back.

“I’m sorry,” he said. “Do you want anything?”

“Umm... Water?” you replied.

“Ok, c’mon.” he got up and pulled you along with him to the kitchen where he poured you a glass of water. Once you got done drinking it, you saw Justin looking at you. You walked over to him.

“What’s wrong?” you asked.

He slightly smiled. “Nothing’s wrong...  I just know you deserve better than that – than Josh,”

You looked down. “But all I can ever get are guys like Josh...it’s hard to know what I deserve when the best guys I can get is ones like him.”

“I know what you deserve,” he whispered. You looked up at him.

“What’s that, then?”

He moved in closer to you so you both were only inches apart. “You deserve a guy who will...touch you like this,” He said as he ran his hand lightly up and down your back, making you shiver.

“You need a guy who will hold you like this,” he said as he pulled you into him by your waist, then lightly running his fingers up to your face and holding it in his hands.

“And you need a guy who will kiss you like this...” he said as he slowly leaned in. You closed your eyes with him and waited to feel his warm, soft lips against yours. Suddenly they were. You could feel them moving perfectly with yours. You clenched his shirt with your hands and pulled him in closer. You let his tongue explore your mouth.

After a few seconds, he leaned away. He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you in for a warm hug.

“So, that’s the kind of guy I need?” you asked after the hug, smiling.

He smiled back. “Yeah, that’s the kind of guy you need.”

“Wonder where that kind of guy would be...”

He leaned back into you and whispered “Right here” before leaning in for another soft, warm kiss – this time lasting much longer than before.
