~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This is it, I'm finally going to be emancipated after years of foster homes. I'm finally going to be living on my own.
"VENICE! Where are you going?" Said my newest foster 'mom'. See the only problem with the whole emancipation thing is that my foster parents will kill me if they find out what I'm doing. They still get checks every month since I'm still under 18.
Though I only have a few months until my 18th birthday they want to get money for doing nothing as long as they can.
"Ummm... I'm going for a walk." I am a horrible liar. Even I could hear the fear in my voice but luckily she couldn't dwell on it since my little brother and sister came running downstairs.
There also both foster kids and they aren't that old they just turned 2 last week. They're twins and thankfully weren't broken up when they were put into foster care.Lottie and Lance are the cutest kids I've ever seen.
They both have blonde hair and blue eyes and I consider them my actual brother and sister. I'm hoping that after I'm emancipated that I can adopt them but I unless I find the love of my life that's not going to happen.Mainly because I don't believe anyone is out there made for me. My 'mom' Candace, just shrugged and walked upstairs and was about to walk into her room when she yelled down the stairs scaring the crap out of me.
"Take the twins with you, I'm gonna have some company over soon." Gross.
I nodded even though she couldn't see me and started to get the twins ready to leave.We walked to the park since I had sometime before I had to go to the court room. Luckily I had brought a book that I could read. Half way through reading my book I heard a scream. I looked up to see lance running away and Lottie crying while holding her arm. My first instinct was to run and pick up Lottie. I made sure she wasn't severely hurt. When I saw she just had a tiny scratch on her arm I kissed it better and put a band aid on it.
I picked her up and walked in the direction Lance went. The thing with Lance is when he does something bad he runs away because our foster parents usually try to hurt us if we do something bad. After 10 minutes of walking around and still not seeing Lance I started getting scared.I mean we don't exactly live in the best part of town. Thankfully before I went into full panic mode I heard laughter, and not just any it was Lance. I walked towards the laughter with Lottie in my arms and saw him with 3 boys who looked around my age. I didn't recognize any of them so I don't think they go my school. They were all handsome, but no of them caught my eye.
"Lance! You know not to run away from me when your in trouble. I'm not Candace or James." I say the last part quietly so the boys won't hear me. Lance stares at me with little tears in his eyes. "Don't try to pull that on me mister. I know you." I say while putting Lottie down to take him out of the boys arms and tickling him. He starts squirming and giggles and shrieks of laughter come from him. All the while the boys watch me with interest.
"Thank you so much for taking care of him. I was terrified something may have happened to him after 10 minutes of looking for him and not finding him." I say in one breath. I hear one of the boys chuckle so I look up and there all staring at me with smiles on there faces. Okay kinda creepy.
"It's okay the little guy gave us something to do while waiting for our friend." The one with blonde hair said.
I look around seeing the sun high in the sky.
"Hey do guys now what time it is?" My court date is at 1:30 and I have to be there a half hour before.
The light brown haired one looks at his wrist and tells me it's 12:45.
"SHIT! I have to go. Lottie, Lance come on we have to find a cab." I say in a rush to pick up the multiple bags I have for myself and the twins."Why are you in such a rush?" The other light brown haired one asks.
" I don't see how that's any of your business." I say. I probably sound rude but it's true. I pick up my two bags and backpack, lift the twins into my arms and start walking to the bus stop. I don't have enough money on me for a cab so the bus will do. We get on and sit at the front so it's easier to get off when our stop comes.Once at the court house we go in and I sit in a corner and set up the kids with some toys and go over to tell the receptionist that I'm there and ready. After being at the court house for about 2 hours the judge gave me what I wanted, emancipation. I had the letter and since I had a pretty good job as a receptionist in a multi billion dollar company I had pretty good pay and enough saved up to buy either an apartment or a small house.
