"I was so excited! Me and my boyfriend of five years where about to go to prom. I was wearing a long golden dress, and it had silver stitching. It was truly my dream dress. I waited for him for over an hour, and I heard the knock on the door. I opened it and he stood there in a black suit with a rose tucked in the jacket. He held one of those flower things, I don't remember what it was called but no one cares any way, and I smiled at him. He took my hand, put the flower thing around my wrist, and led me to the car. I got in the passenger seat and we drove to the dance. I walked through the school doors and he followed behind. We went into the gym and it was how you would imagine any school dance, except in the Disney movies there weren't stupid people getting drunk. We got some punch, what ever, I don't really remember what it tasted like. Then the dj played a slow song and he took my hand and we went to the middle of the dance floor. We danced for what seemed like forever, and as soon as I knew it, the night was over. Two of my friends where drunk so we offered to drive them home. All four of us got in the car, me and my friend Lily sat together in the back, and she was kind of drunk but not as drunk as ken who sat in front with my boy friend. That's when it happened... Ken kept messing around with my boyfriend and then the front of the car smashed into a giant truck.. And now we are here, at the police station. Ken we know is dead, Lily and I are fine just a few scratches and bruises, and my boyfriend... We still don't know"
I told the officer everything, she looked at me and she was sad "What is your name, and what was the boys name?" "My name is Clair, and his name is Jake" the officer looked down and I'm confused "Officer, what's wrong?" She looked up and could tell she was crying "Jake is my son, and you where his true love. He talked about you all the time" I knew I recognized her. Then all of a sudden I got a text that said, dear Clair Baring, we are sorry to inform you that Jake Sandiago is DEAD
