It was one week before my eighteenth birthday and one week until graduation when the mysterious man came to change my life forever.

I guess I should have foreseen something like this happening to me, I always had a turn of bad luck in my life and so why should it stop now?

Rubeus Hagrid was quite the character, he was an eight foot tall, scruffy haired; from head to toe, very friendly wizard.

He had plucked me from my bed, told me what little information he could to get me to come with him, and into the night we went.

I told my parents goodbye of course, and my sister. They hugged me and told me to call whenever I figured out what was going on but Hagrid made me promise for their safety I could not do so, and for the last two months I had been very vague about any details surrounding Hogwarts or the reason I was here.

My parents were concerned at first, but, after one phone call a day for two months reassuring I was okay, they had slacked off a little and decided to let me handle things on my own, which suited me just fine; I did not want to get them involved with anything that could be dangerous to them if they didn't have to be.

The blatant truth was I was brought to Hogwarts to come in as a spy for the order and the ministry. I was to act as a new student and get in good with the Slytherin head boy in order to gain information on the Dark Lord Voldemort.

Draco Malfoy was my age and had already taken on the dark mark, becoming a supporter of the Dark Lord and a death eater. Both of which were hazardous to himself and everyone around him, but he was useful for valuable information so therefore I had used my wits and frankly my body to try and gain answers. This was our sixth time in the sheets and I still hadn't learned much of anything, but I hadn't really tried either. The key to get answers is to get in really good with someone before you start pressing any kind of questions on them.

Draco was not in bed when I awoke, the spot where he lay was empty and cold, which meant he had been gone for a while, to class presumably.

I rolled out of bed, the hardwood touching my barefeet sent a shiver up my spine. I was never going to get used to the cold weather in London, where I came from was the south, where it stayed warm almost all year round, and so the climate differences were drastic. I had learned to start buying more socks and jackets to keep myself warm.

I started the coffee pot, coffee was my saving grace, and my addiction.

I took a shower while the coffee was brewing, washing off the sweat and sex residue off my body from the night before. The magic still bubbled inside of me, a tingling sensation that I had gotten used to. The muscles in my neck and back on the other hand were so tight and sore from working so hard to learn spells, and slamming into the wall. The hot water relaxed me, showers were the only time I ever felt normal, they were just a few stolen moments where I could block out the world and pretend that I was back home, worrying about chemistry homework instead of spells and magic and all of the hectic things that I was surrounded with now.

I cut the water off and toweled off before grabbing my robes from the closet, I was in the Slytherin house and my colors were green and silver.

I heard a light knock on the door as I was getting dressed.

"Coming!" I shouted as I headed into the main room.

I opened the door and smiled.

"Hermione."

"Avery." Hermione smiled back at me, her bushy hair was wild and snow speckled.

"Is it snowing?" I asked and she nodded smiling.
