Prologue
When you look down, what do you see? Do you see your new electric blue Converse boots that you can't wait to show off to your friends? Do you see your soccer cleats, matched up with shin pads and soccer socks that go up to your knees? Do you see your skin-tight skinny jeans that shown off how petite you are? Well, when I look down, I see a chair. A chair holding up a pair of legs that don't move on their own, covered in faded blue jeans and dirty purple converse.
I haven't always been like this.
I used to be happy, go-lucky, carefree, funny. And I also took things for granted. Most people do. They focus on what they don't have, instead of what's right there in front of you. You don't realize how lucky you are to have something until it's wrenched right away from your grasp. It's unfair, but the way things work.
It can happen to anyone.
Imagine you are running for your bus thats about to leave, you sprint across the street, thinking about what your mum will say if you tell her that you missed the bus. You would be late for soccer practice! As you run across the street, you don't notice the bus pulling out, gaining speed as it rushes towards you...
Need I say more?
It was a typical day, nothing more. That weekend you would go to see harry potter 7 part 2 for the first time, in Imax with your friend, but now you would never get to see Neville kill the snake on a huge screen.
That's not exactly what happened to me, but it really puts things into perspective. What did you do today?
Simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time could cost your life.
So when someone says "Live life to the fullest," please dont wave them off as some hippie with problems.
Don't make the same mistake I did, 'cause life is too short for regrets.
