I followed Kevin outside of the cabin. I still held the book in my hands, the power radiating from the pages. I had many things to ask him, mainly about Steve.
"Um, Kevin? May I ask you something" I asked politely he turned to me and nodded his head. He seemed so calm, despite the fact that his mortal enemy is still alive."Um... I would like to know about Steve. I did hear he was a great man." He began to grin widely. He put a hand on my shoulder and spoke.
"Kid, Steve indeed was a great man. I know that, and you know that too. I liked him, he was always cheerful, even in the worst of times." He spoke on and on about his many adventures, and also about his unfortunate passing. Whenever he spoke about Steve's death, the world seemed to grow cold and dark. Suddenly, I had a huge idea."Kevin? If Herobrine is alive, then Steve may be alive as well!" Kevin looked at me and stared.
"You really think so?" He exclaimed. We exchanged glances for a bit. We both seemed to have the same mischievous gleam in our eyes. Alex walked toward us and sat down.
"So... Whatcha doing?" Kevin whispered to her, and she nodded and went back inside. I asked,
"Um, what did you need me for?"He sighed and grabbed the book slowly from my hands. He looked at it for a bit. And then began to speak.
"Oh, yes. I understand that you feel the same feeling that I do when I am in the presence of this book. I understand you are a Farlander, yes, and I understand that they are different from normal people. But, the power that I had as the Chosen One was distributed along the land shortly after my great victory, therefore representing the Farlander's differences. I have been looking for the one Farlander that would save us all."
"Save us from what?" I asked.
"From anything that troubles the land of Minecraftia."I silently took it all in. As I pondered the though, Alex came back with some Mushroom Stew. She handed one bowl to Kevin and I, and we began to eat. The mushroom stew was definitely good, and I finished it quickly. After all, a long talk really gets me hungry. She sat down and smiled at me. She took the book from Kevin and opened it once more. Words began to spin around us. I prepared for the Golem-Heimlich-Maneuver feeling, but instead, I felt a cool breeze swoosh around me, enveloping me in a cold breeze. I found myself in a forest. Kevin and Alex began to walk along a gravelly path, and so did I.
The forest seemed extremely calm. Almost too calm. The spruce leaves on the trees were rustling in a cool breeze. Everything was quiet.
Until it wasn't.
An unsettling yell erupted from the trees. The yell reverberated around the environment, and suddenly disappeared. I heard it again, the shrill call flowing through the land. I ran towards the sound, Kevin and Alex following closely behind. We walked into a clearing full of grass and flowers. The only thing unsettling about it was that there was an ominous Nether Portal right in front of us.
There was a sign in front of it. The writing was untidy and messy, yet quite easy to read. It said:
I heard that you have finally found out that Steve could be alive. Well... Not to burst your bubble or anything, but he is. You may be looking for him now, but I have him.
COME GET HIM.
-Herobrine
Kevin stared with an astonished look on his face. I looked at him, he looked back. We were thinking the same thing:
We Must Get Steve.
