Hello guys. Last chapter took me like forever to write. I am sorry. I've been sorting myself out and I've been starting to feel better which is good. You are probably getting this chapter shortly after the last just because I am a lazy sod and haven't updated earlier. Anyways here is the chapter, enjoy:)
*Danny*
I jolted awake as the door swung shut. The loud bang waking me from my slumber. It was just a guy leaving. It dawned on me that I've been here for about 11 hours - I should probably call Jessie's parents. I pulled her phone out of my pocket and called her mum.
"Hey Jessica," Rose said into the phone.
"Rose, it's Danny. Um, I had to ring an ambulance for Jess, she's here in the hospital now. I thought I'd let you know in case you wanted to come down," I informed her.
"Is she okay?" She asked worriedly.
I explained what I knew of Jessie's condition to her (which wasn't much as I hadn't heard anything from a doctor yet) and Rose told me she and Jessie's father were coming down.
Just then there was a knock on the door. A serious looking doctor came in and I stood up immediately.
"Mr O'Donoghue?" He asked.
"Danny," I nodded.
"Danny, we have Jessica's results. She's been diagnosed with Anemia. This is an iron deficiency which can affect all aspects of a persons life. Jessica hasn't been getting the nutrients she needs and has been under a lot of stress recently. This has effected her monthly menstrual cycle and is what caused her to faint earlier," the doctor informed me.
"Stress? She never showed any signs," I questioned, clearly confused.
"Patients suffering from stress can be very good at hiding it."
"Oh, will she be okay?" I asked.
"She will be, with the right treatment and care."
"Can I see her?"
"Yes, she's asleep but I'll take to to see her."
The walk to Jessie's room was long. A lot was running through my mind. I'd look after her. I'd do whatever it takes to make sure she was healthy again. I'd watch her, give her medication, cook her nutritious meals, I'd make it better. Finally, we came to the last room on the corridor and the doctor opened the door allowing me to go in first. There she was, tucked in below the blue covers, her dark brown waves hugged her beautiful face perfectly. She was beautiful - vulnerable but beautiful. As she lay there asleep I walked to her bedside quietly. I took her hand and kissed her forehead, then I ran my fingers through her hair. All this time not saying a word. About half an hour later there was another knock at the door and in came Jessie's mum - Rose and a guy who I assumed was her dad. I got out of my seat to greet them.
"Danny!" Rose welcomed, instantly pulling me into a hug.
"Hello Rose," I smiled.
"It's nice to meet you Danny," the male said offering his hand after Rose and I had finished hugging.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Cornish," I replied.
"Call me Stephen," he told me.
"It's nice to meet you Stephen," I smiled, before sidetracking my statement. "Well, it would have been, if the situation was different."
"Yeah. Is she okay?" He asked.
I informed both of them on Jess' condition. They were glad it wasn't something worse. As Jess slept I got to know her parents better. They were lovely people, and I could see how these two people hand influenced her beautiful personality. She got her humour from her dad and she got her selflessness from her mum.
A few hours later she started to stir. She rolled over to the side her parents were at and woke property.
"Mum? Dad?" She asked clearly confused.
"We're here," Stephen assured her.
"But where's Danny," she worried. It made me smile to know she was anxious to see me.
"He's right over there," Rose informed, nodding my way.
She rolled over and smiled when she saw me. I smiled back.
"Hey," I smiled.
"Hey, come here," Jess told me, before pulling me into a hug. It was a tad awkward with her parents there. I just wanted to kiss her, scoop her up in my arms and kiss her. Once we had finished hugging she said a proper hello to her mum and dad before demanding to know exactly what was wrong with her. Every last little detail. She was the sort off person who didn't like to be kept in the dark about health. Once she understood she was happy it wasn't too serious, just like her mum. Rose and Stephen stayed for a few hours and caught up with her. They left and the doctor came to check Jessie's vitals, which were fine. After the doctor gave me her prescription Jess was discharged and I got her home safely. I sat her on the sofa and cleaned up the glass. She tried to get up to help but I gently pushed her onto the sofa again.
"No. I'll do it, you are going to rest and I'll help you get better," I told her.
"Dan, I'm anemic not paralyzed," she moaned.
"I know, but your very weak to the moment and I'm looking after you so go take a nice shower and I'll cook a healthy nutritious dinner with plenty of iron and set out your medication," I instructed.
With a little bit of huffing Jessie dragged herself to the shower and I started dinner. A nice tender steak with a baked potatoes and Mediterranean rice. As I was cooking the rice she returned from the bathroom, dressed in fresh pyjamas. I turned around and hugged her smelling her strawberry shampoo from her wet hair.
"Mm, you smell so good," I breathed into her neck, making her shiver. She looked up at me and smiled. I placed my hands in her waist and touched my forehead to hers before connecting out lips. The kiss was a short one, but the love we head for each other clearly showed. I plated up the meal before going into the medicine cupboard and getting Jess her medication. Of course in typical Jess style she screwed up her face at the thought of doing this for any length of time before taking the tablets. We ate the dinner and I was surprised to see that Jessie had eaten it all. We began our usual routine of cuddling on the sofa and watching a movie. Tonight it was The Avengers. Half way through the movie Jess turned around so she was facing me, her face portrayed that she was thinking of something. It took her a moment to eventually speak.
"Tomorrow I want to go back to mine," she told me before I rudely interrupted. What?! Why would she want to leave. We were happy together. She was everything to me and I couldn't let her go like that, especially now when I had vowed to both myself and her that I would look after her.
"No! You can't leave me, we live here together and I need to look after you," I slightly shouted. Jessie giggled.
"I'm not leaving you dork. I just mean to get the rest of my stuff and if your happy with us living here then I was thinking I could sell it. It could give someone a home," she confessed.
"I'm perfectly happy with us both living here," I smiled, pulling her into a tight hug. "Your my little princess and I'm going to look after you."
"Thanks Dan," Jessie sighed against my chest.
"What for?" I asked.
"Everything. For being you, for being there for me, for looking after us," she smiled. "You've been amazing."
"I'm always amazing," I chuckled as the end credits began to roll.
"Your a goon," she laughed.
"Come on," I said as I picked her up in my arms. "It's bedtime for my princess." I told her, kissing her forehead. I took us to our room, shutting off the lights as I went and tucked her into bed before getting in beside her and pulling her to my side.
"Goodnight Jessica," I told her.
"Goodnight Daniel," she replied.
A/N: So, again this is very late guys. I apologise. I have been writing all week and I even have about half another chapter wrote. It's just really hard to get to edit and check my drafts over at the minute. I will try to get you quicker updates but I cannot make any promises. I may have the other chapter up tonight but it is quite late so I'm not very sure. Thanks for reading guys!
