Chapter 5
Last night was the best night of my life! I had so much fun, I was glad that Cam had stumbled in on my life and gave it purpose. I look back on my life before him and only see dull, and then I look to what could happen with Cam and, *sigh* I see everything I've ever wished for. Oh ,my gosh, I've know Cam for what, the equivalent of four days now that nights are there too? This mate thing is weird, was it even possible to fall in love with some one that fast? If it wasn't before it was now, because I knew one thing.
I Love Cam.
Anyway, @@@flash back@@@
“Wow! I'm so stupid, why didn't I think of this before?” Cam groaned to himself, as he grabbed my hand and pulled me at Vampire speed off the couch and into the kitchenette.
“What are we doing?” I asked.
“Making popcorn!” he exclaimed.
“Oh god, you got all like, mad at yourself because you wanted popcorn sooner but forgot?” I asked him shaking my head and chuckling.
“NO! Just... shush okay, and just wait, this is going to be awesome!” he said.
“Oh, sweet lord. What have you could possibly have thought of? This is going to end in total utter disaster, I just know it!” I HALF joked.
“Just you wait,” he said under his breath.
Once the popcorn was made Cam poured two glasses of wine, (vampires don’t get drunk, yay!) mixing in a fair amount of blood. He took my hand and led me to the glass floor. He sat cross legged on the ground and motioned for me to do the same.
What was he doing? There were multiple chairs and couches around the room.
Once I was seated, he bolted up and turned all the lights off, getting back in a quarter of a half of a second. He was fast, way faster than me! And I was pretty darn fast myself. Even with the lights off, I could still see perfectly, even better than with the lights on. I loved the dark now, the excitement of the night, the mysteries it held and the fact that I was one of them. I used to love the sun, and the hot, and now the sun is too bright and gives off an odd glare to my skin. The hot or even warm makes my skin itchy and it really all is just kind of annoying.
“Now just... watch,” he whispered.
“Watch what?” I asked, quietly.
“The show,” he nodded toward the glass floor and farther down, the forest floor. Even though there was a hundred feet of space separating me from it, it felt like I was right there, just with a wider view.
I gasped, there were so many animals, running playing, hunting. I watched as a dark sleek forest cat stalked its prey, a helpless deer, silently moving with expert grace and precision.
Was I like that when I hunted? I wanted to know, I wanted to learn. Now.
“This is really amazing Cam!” I said.
“I know right, that’s why I love the glass floor,” he said.
“I really love it, but I want to go hunting, I have the sudden urge for a taste of fresh blood, straight from a human! Will you take me out hunting Cam?” I asked getting more and more excited about my first hunt.
He thought about it for a moment, “Yea, it would be good for you, to learn. But I need to warn you, don’t feel remorse, it's who we are, so if your about so bite into them and then hesitate, don’t,”
I nodded.
“Aright let's go,” he said.
I climbed out the door and clung to the tree. He followed me out and locked the door, I really didn't see a point.
