I felt Annabelle's body dropping on the couch on the hallway next to mine as I was reading a biology book. I smiled at her seeing her wet hair, bit her make up was already on her.
"Someone's already prepeared?" I wiggled my eyebrows gaining a poke to the side. "What? Just an observation."
"Stupid observation." She murmured in annoyence but I could see how she scanned the hall looking out for him.
I put my finger in between the pages and sighed as mothes always do when they speal to their offsprings.
"You know it's be easier to accidentaly meet him if you just start walking around the place, right?" She turned to me opening her mouth but I lifted a finger. "Yeah, denial is not gonna take you far."
She smlied shyly and dissapeared in the crowd.
I was actually pretty happy she didn't ask what happened to me, where I was or where I spent the night. I didn't want to tell her, I didn't want her to know. Hell I didn't want anyone to know, not after how Harry had treated me.
"As much as I want you to stay, leave before semebody sees you?" Very nice move, very comfortable way to let me know he never wanted anyone to know we had anything to do with each other. As much ad I want you to stay. Yeah, probably should have sounded like "as much as I want to posses your body..." but with less formal words. Sorry LOVE, I was not the easy type of girl.
I sighed mad at myself for letting him get into my head again and I opened up the book again trying to get some sense of what I wad reading but I was not even given a chance.
"Melinda there you are!"
I froze hering Harry's voice through the hallway and feeling his weight next to mine not even a full minute later. I shifted feeling his arm resting on the couch just behind my back slightly touching me.
"Why did you leave so urgently earlier?..." He asked quietly and I almost didn't burst in laughter, but I wore poker face mask and slowly close the book.
"You said yourself to me to get out as soon as possible." He widened his eyes and I didn't know if it was my comment that took him aback , my ice cold voice or empty eyes. "I just fulfilled your wish."
His lips were partened, as he looked at me as if I went mad.
"What the he-..." He cut himself off. "Wait, you didn't think I actually throw you out, did you?"
I forced a smile that could kill if it was an option.
"Harry, I didn't think anything. I fulfilled your wish of leaving before anyone could see that I was leaving your room after the night. I understand I do not quite apply to your type of girls that you hang out with, I not miss popular, I'm not party girl. I realize people call me nerd behind my back and I am OK with it, so I fully understand you don't want to be seen with someone my kind. That's why it's weird for me, that you decide to sit here with me where everybody can see you."
I finishedy monologue closing the book very ready to leave, but it would be rude. Since I betrayed each and every rule I believed in I could at least stick to this one be freaking nice.
"Melinda, I didn't throw you out..."
Harry started but I lifted my hand stopping him.
"Harry you certainly don't have to explain yourself to me. I understand it."
I forced another smile collecting my stuff and getting up making a step away, so he wouldn't grab my hand while he tried.
"Melinda..."
