All he could do was sit besides his mother and hold her.He was in a state of shock. His father's picture was staring back at him, smiling. The father whom he hardly smiled at was even smiling back at him through the frame. Cry, even that was difficult. Rivan couldn't believe that his first day after coming out from the academy would be so trying. He knew something was wrong when he got the call on his number that day about his father. But he had left it to his family to look after. Little did he know that it would be the worst shock of his life.

Suddenly he was brought out of his reverie by the sound of his sobbing mother. WHAT THE FUCK!! That's all he could muster up in his head. He couldn't do anything. He was feeling useless. Useless as a person who couldn't help his mother as well as a son who didn't know much about his father. Next moment he was sitting down to have the lunch which he didn't know how he could eat. He stared at his plate waiting for the food to be served so that he could finish it and leave the room to be alone. Suddenly a very fair hand served him chapati, rice and dal. He wouldn't dare look up as his head was stuck in its place. He ate the food silently. "Rivan? Do you need anything?" somebody asked him. All he could do was shake his head. While doing so he just happened to look at the person who called out the name as it was a voice he had never heard before.

And that's how he met her. And that's how he met Sanchi.
