The Break Up

Rivan returned to complete his academic tenure and was completely blown away by his new found friend. Sanchi was just beautiful. She was way matured than any girl he had seen and even though she was elder to him she looked as if she was just out of college. The talks between them increased. The day talks turned into night talks. The smileys turned into winks which turned into kisses. Rivan was mesmerised by Sanchi and had actually started to forget abt Sasha.

One day while talking on the phone Rivan asked Sanchi about her past. Sanchi replied, " Forget the past, let's talk about the present.." Rivan sensed something was not right but he didn't express his thoughts.

The following day Rivan had made up his mind. "Today I will tell her!" Rivan kept muttering to himself. He longed for the night to come as he wanted to spill it out. So when he called up Sanchi and she said hi, Rivan started his monologue, " Sanchi..its been a tough few days for me and you have supported me but I wanna know if this is all we have between us. Yes we are friends but as they say after some time a girl and guy sharing so many things just can't be friends. And your face has been confusing me for the past few days too...I can't concentrate and so let me tell you what I have been wanting to tell you all day long...I Love You". At the other end Sanchi was quiet. She didn't say a word. She didn't say yes nor no. She just replied that it was late and that we will talk later. The next few days they both spoke on the phone but didn't remove the topic of proposal. Rivan didn't understand what had gone wrong but was grateful that at least they were still friends.

And then one day after mustering up courage to ask her the reply Rivan called her up and directly asked,
R: Answer
S: You know that this can't happen..we can't be together
R: Answer
S: I don't know
R: Is that a yes as you aren't denying jt
S: Whatever you wanna think
R: Thank you

Next day Sasha gets a call from Rivan, " Sasha, we need to talk." Sasha being a smart girl started crying immediately and asked Rivan to not do it. Rivan tried to stop her but ended up cutting the call without even giving Sasha the reason for the break up.
