Darcy's point of view.
I sorted through the papers on my desktop, looking for the card with the court case details. Specifically I needed the children's names. I finally found it under my briefcase. Godri Ridor, Saladar Lither, Reena Claw, Helma Puffy, youngling. I heard something down the hall, and listened.
"Stop shoving me!" yelled a boy.
"Dude, I'm not shoving you. Your pushing me," retarted another.
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Snake breath!"
"Cat head!"
"Stop it you two. You're bickering is driving me crazy, and you're scaring Helma." This voice was firm, and carried athority.
"I'm sorry if scale-head-"
"No, I didn't -"
"I believe Reena told you to stop."
I started. This voice was soft as silk and smooth as honey. Truly angelic.
"Is this were we're supposed to be?" asked a fifth voice.
By this point I could see who the voices were coming from. Five foxes rounded the corner. They each wore a different scarf. Red-with-yellow-trim and Green-with-white-trim were glaring daggers at each other. Blue-with-brown-trim linked tails with Yellow-with-black-trim. Pink-with-purple-trim was riding on Blue-with-brown-trim's back. Pink-with-purple-trim seemed smaller than the others.
These must be my new charges. Woop-de-do.
