Lucky Summer

Chapter 1

"What about this one?" I asked one of my best friends Kellie, who dragged me shopping with her to get a new bathing suit. But I cant blame her, were going to ocean breeze tomorrow and all my bikinis are either too small or too big.

I held up a blue bikini top with pink splattered everywhere.

Kellie's eyes darted to the bathing suit and gasped "OH MY GOD I LOVE IT. YOURE BUYING IT NOW." I couldn't help but laugh at her extremely girly voice. "Okay to the register!"

We were in target for at least 2 hours, I couldn't find my right size and I loved pretty much everything I set my eyes on, so I ended up trying on 13 different bathing suits until I finally found the right one.

Making our way to the car I looked over at Kellie noticing she hadn't bought anything.

"Kellie, why didn't you buy a bathing suit?" I asked. "Oh I already have like four bathing suits so I'm good." She shrugged it off. We got in her car and were taking off back to her house, I was going to sleepover. yayyyyy. sleepoverrrr.

I turned up the volume on the radio and started singing along to 'Lightning In a Bottle' by the Summer Set. Hey it may be right in the middle but when I hear a song I like, I shall sing. Even when I know I'm probably the worst singer on the face of the earth.

I started to shout the lyrics along with Kellie as our favorite part came up-

"THEN YOU LOST YOUR SHOES AS IT STARTED TO RAIN

AND YOUR JEANS SOAKED THROUGH BUT YOU SMILED ANYWAY

THROW OUR HEARTS IN THE AIR

WERE CATCHIN LIGHNING IN A BOTTLE

DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT TOMORROW

YEAH WERE DANCIN IN THE BACKSEAT

WE DONT NEED GRAVITY HERE IN THE AFTERGLOW...

Kellie and I finally calmed down by laughing and pulling into Amber's driveway. Amber was going to spend the night and come to ocean breeze with us also. Oh yeah. Tonight will be fun.

Amber walked out the door with her bag of stuff as we beeped the horn.

"Geez guys I could hear you coming from a mile away! The horn was not needed."

Amber got in the car as Kellie and I were bursting out in fits of laughterl. I mean being a cheerleader I can be loud but I never knew I was that loud.

"Yeah Lydia was shouting so loud I thought I was going to be deaf if I didn't pull up any sooner." Kellie said laughing.
