El puts her arms around you. Your eyes blurry from the tears as you look at the screen. 2 lines.
"El please tell me that all of them don't have 2 lines on them" you say through your tears. You feel her hand against your head as she looks.
"Aimee, they've all got 2 lines babe, you're"
"please don't say it"
Aimee, you're pregnant, this is really serious!" she says
"I know, i know" you say, using your finger to wipe away your watery eyes. You walk away from the tests with your hand on your head.
"what the hell have I done, i knew this would happen, I can't be... no no no!" You say all in one breath. You sit on El's bed, dropping your head into your hands. El rubs your back.
"Shhhhhhh, it will be okay."
"HOW IS THIS OK?"
"Babe, calm down, we have options. Are you gunna tell NIall?"
"I'll have too, i mean, it's his baby, but if i choose to have an abortion then is it worth telling him?"
"Oh babe, you need to tell him. You have to make this decision together"
"I know" you say. Your mind is swirling. Abortion, adoption or keep it? After spending the rest of the day round El's you head hope. You walk through the woods home with your i-pod in, listening to 'Little things'. What will Niall want? After all, he's touring all next year, how will you cope with A-Levels, and a baby on your own?
As you get in, your mum is sat watching the tv.
"you alright babe?" she asks
"Yeah, i'm fine" you say leaning on the lounge door.
"You look like you've been crying?"
"nooo, mum, i'm fine" you grab your bag and go up to your room. Looking outside at the night sky you sit on your window ledge with your phone in your hands. The stars hover in the night sky like fairy lights, and you text Niall.
"Niall babe, when you've got off stage, can you ring me babe?! xoxoxoxoxoxo"
*2 hours later*
Your phone vibrates on your pillow next to you. Squinting at the screen you read 'Niall' and answer.
"Hey babe" he says, "everything alright?
You pause
"Aimee?"
"Oh, yeah, I'm um, um fine. I just needed to hear your voice." you say, silently beginning to cry.
"Awhhh you're missing me that much?" he laughs
"Umm, yeah I guess so."
"Babe, what's wrong?" his voice is filled with concern
"Nothing"
"Aimee, i know you well enough to know when you're upset"
"It's okay"
"Aimee, I can hear you crying what's wrong?"
"Umm, nothing, really. i i i i'm just really emotional today"
"Awhh beautiful. Well, you know I love you and you are beautful. I miss you so much babe, I'll come and see you before we leave for the US yeah?"
"okay, when do you leave?"
"We leave in 5 weeks, so I'll definitely come and see you before"
"Okay babe, glad tonight was good. I love you"
"I love you more princess, now get some sleep"
"Okay, Love you Niall."
You hang up, rolling onto the cold side of your pillow. You try your best to sleep but you can't. You cant believe you're actually pregnant. 16 and pregnant.
It's the morning after. You wake feeling rather ill. You run into the bathroom and vomit.
"Aimee?!" your mum's voice echoes through the door.
"Just a second"
"Aimee, are you being sick?"
"No... i'm fine mum"
Her footsteps creep back across the landing to her room. You knew if your mum found out about you being pregnant she'd kill you, so you quickly get dressed and head out to sixth form. You meet El who is completely worried about you and you still have no idea what to do.
"do you even know far along you are?" she asks
"I must be about a month"
"Really? do you have any idea what you want to do?"
"Nope"
"Aimee, you need to talk to Niall, when's the next time you'll see him?"
"In 5 weeks"
"In 5 weeks? oh gosh you'll be 2 months gone by then!"
"I know i really do, but i have time. I need that time"
"Yeah, i guess so."
you spend the next few weeks considering all your options. You've never wanted to get an abortion, and you know there's no way that you could give your baby up, so you've decided to keep it. All that was left to do is tell Niall.
