Crunch. Crunch. Crunch. Sadie Roanoke froze in her tracks. She stared-frozen- into those red bloodshot eyes. And they moved as to stare at her. Silence, utter silence as a lump formed in her throat, her blood tugging, heart bumping Bum by dum bum. Tears welling in her eyes, goosebumps forming on her arms. She was panicking silently, scared, afraid. Then BOOM, a sound like an explosion, and then a crash, and then something came flying out and hit Sadie across the head. Red hot blood bled much from her cut. She was confused, and then and then, and then...

Sadie awoke panicking. She touched her face, blood-red and hot-fresh blood. She was panting "Huhhuhuhuaaahhhhhhhh!!!!."

"Sadie!! Sadie what's wrong!!!" Yelled Owen Ryan's springing from his room next door. He unlocked her door and walked in. "Sadie,Sadie,Sadie!!" He said stroking her face. She blushed.
"Sadie!!!! Sadie!!!! What's wrong now???"

"I--I..I just had a nightmare." She responded then took a deep breath. "About That Place."

"We need to get you help!!" Said Owen.

"I think it's a side effect from all that's going on right now."

"Could be I guess." He turned and then looked at her, like something was wrong. "But I'm concerned, just like a nice friend should do!!"

"I understand." Said Sadie. And with that Owen looked at her,smiled, and then left the room, closing the door behind him.

"Mission Report, Roanoke files!" Evan Ryans, Owens Dad, said. He walked into the room. "Got your coffee!!!" He had a hole smile. "Anything new in the Roanoke files?" He asked.

"Here's all we know." Said Lyndsay, digging her hand trough a file cabinet, muttering to herself as she searched for the right file. "Bubo,Kubicki,Towle,Jermaine,Ahhh Roanoke." She pulled out a thin Manila file and plopped it into his hands. "Here." She said

"Thanks!" He said

"I'll leave you alone" she said and bounded out the door locking it behind her.

Evan opened the file and sat down at his spinning chair, sipping his coffee. He put on his glasses  and continued to work in peace.

Bring Bring!! Bring  Bring!!!! That was it!! The bell, signaling the end of 3rd period, meaning it was lunch time. Sadie Roanoke briskly walked to her moms diner, and the pushed the door open forcefully.

"Sadie!" Said Marianne. Marianne was one of her moms employees, at the diner.

"Marianne! Hi! Is my mom around at all?"

"She went for her lunch break in the back." Marianne replied.

"Thanks." Sadie rushed, as she brushed by Marianne to go to see her mom. She walked to the back door, opened it and it swung open with a squeak! She turned a few corners into the break room.  She approached a lady at a round table and hugged her tight.

"Oh!" Cried the lady. "Sadie! Hello!" And she got up and embraced Sadie back. "Sit down Sadie, let's talk."

So Sadie sat down, and started eating her favorite meal  from the diner, Ham and Country. Ham and Country was ham,cheese,hash-browns, a pancake,sausage,bacon,gravy,beans, fries, and eggs mixed together.

Sadie and her mom started to talk.
