Chapter 6

My heart beat quickens at the thought of the pain she is about to go through. Seeing her brother's killed in front of her eyes will make her think recklessly. Pain shoots deep inside my chest as I watch her brother's drop to the dirt covered woods floor.

She holds it in, but I feel it through our bond. She is lost, angry and devastated. Her body is weak from the earlier beatings, which means she can't tear the rogue to smithereens. Not that he would let her. Compared to him, she is a tiny rabbit in a wolf's kingdom. For that reason alone, I crave his blood. My teeth elongate in hopes of slicing through his thick fur and into the warm flesh of his body.

I hear my father tell the rogue to sexually assault her from a distance. To taunt and provoke her. Not like killing her loved ones didn't drive her insane with anger and desperation in the first place.

My arms cover with fur as I notice the disgusted look on my beauty's face. The bastard is groping himself isn't he?

My eyes avert to my father. A blood lust fills my veins at the thought of killing him. He is placing my mate in a terrifying situation. The moment those imposters were near her, he being the King was duty-bound to end the stupid test. For the protection of my mate and his daughter-in-law.

Instead he allows a male to grope and tease her sexually from a distance. Once this test is done with, his blood will coat the floors of the castle. He is no father of mine.

Out of the blue the scene shifts, my beauty is sprinting away. Clearly her ankle is killing her as she isn't able to use it to its full potential. The landscape is familiar and he soon realizes she is heading straight towards the castle. She is coming to seek help from me and her family.

Within a few hundred yards of the clearing behind the castle walls, she sprints in a wide circle, racing away from the castle. Where is she going? Why is she running away?

"Claudia!" I holler at her. It was a chance I had to take. If I distracted her, the rogue would catch her and the test would be over. She'd fail, according to the people. Not that I gave a shit.

Nothing, not a single twitch from to notice my attempt to speak to her through our link.

A deep thunder cracks the silence of the room. Marcus has taken over. We equally believe she is in danger and requires help from her mate. Without communication we are lost without her.

If she is unable to call for help, her mind must be conjuring up horrifying ideas of why I am not responding back to her plea's for help

She endures the hardships of sprinting through the woods with an injured ankle for longer than I thought possible.

I snarl as the rogue leader snaps at her tail, attempting to push her away from her direct path. If he so much nicks her skin, I'll string him up by his balls and let the crows feast on him for all to see.

Shifting uncomfortably in the chair, the chains burn into my flesh, incinerating the fur around the wounds. No wolf is meant to sit straight up on his ass in a chair with chains wrapped around his body.

Rolling my head at my father, I snarl viciously. Foam, frothing over my gums and onto the floor. I'm finally living up to our last name. Savage, is what this man and the council has brought forth in me. I'll savagely murder every member who steps in the path of my mate.
