Hi, my name is Rain. I don't know why my parents named me that. My life isn't all that great, but at least I'm living. I don't have much to tell, so might as well not be interested.
"RAIN!" I heard my mom yell. It was the first day of school. Junior year. Already. I rolled out of bed and tumbled to the restroom. I put on a white sweater with the word 'RAIN' on it, slipped on some studded white shorts which my friend Navidy gave me. I ran down to the kitchen and grabbed a box of 'Frosted Flakes' and a carton of milk. Breakfast was fast. I grabbed my phone and backpack and ran outside, where Yvonne, Navidy, and Paul was waiting.
First days of school were always the bad ones. Especially in high school. Freshman were all trying to get used to the place, looking for their classes and lockers. My friends and I walked to our classes. For me, first period was History Class. People are so right. Why DO we need to learn history when they're all dead anyway. The only person I liked in my first period class was a guy named, Sam. He was funny and always kept everyone awake with his voice... and jokes. I have a feeling he has a little crush on me, by the way he always looks back at me.. and sometimes even wink. I never really said anything. I don't want anything to break our friendship.
Later on, I met Yvonne and Navidy near our lockers. We were quiet. I don't know why. "Soooo.." this was how Yvonne would break the silence.
"I don't know. There's nothing new." Navidy looked tired. The bell rang and we just all said bye and left. Yvonne and I are actually in the same 2nd period class, Math class. In class, Yvonne told me about how Sean, the HOTTEST guy in the junior grade, team captain on the basketball team, wild and throws awesome parties, and is so rich, likes me.
"Sure." I said.
"No, I'm serious. His cousin told me."
"Whatever." she gave me a weird "yvonne" look
"RAIN! YVONNE!"
"Sorry, Mrs. Eve." we both said.
At lunch, I saw Sean. He walked toward me and I decided to leave. Yvonne grabbed my arm and pulled me down. "Stay."
"No. I need to........... shit."
"Stay. You're fine." she whispered.
