"This is sector-less." said the dark hair man, who introduced himself as Austin.

"Um, a little um..." I start. From what I can see the sector-less campus is a mess of art, personalities and, everything imaginable.

"Weird?" Austin finishes for me. Sam looks around and the teenagers around us with a look of almost fear.

"Yeah." I say. Weird sums up the strange murals, graffiti, music, and fashion senses.

"The director thinks a creative environment is good for the kids until they are sent to a sector or get sent back into the living world." Sam snorts, Austin shoots him daggers.

"What?" I say almost to myself, Sam answers.

"It's not like we stay here... she didn't tell you did she." His voice is mocking.

"This isn't it... like the end." I look at Austin.

"Afraid not kid. When we get picked to get sent back, memories wiped and off we go."

"Wow, I..." I start.

"This will be your dormitory hall I think your mother contacted your roommate." Sam states, sounding completely bored.

"Okay." My mind races with questions, stinging like bees in mind.

"Your room's the last one on this hall."He continues.

"You aren't going to walk with me?"

"No adults allowed outside the dormitory halls unless they are an employee of the sector-less division."

"Oh. Thanks." I say, taking the key. In no more than a minute I stand in front of the door.

I take a deep breath and push my way in. "Uh...Hi." I Say when I see the girl sitting on her bed. "I'm Ida."

"Hey, Helena." She says, standing up.

"So I guess we are roommates." I say, you could cut the awkwardness in the air with a knife.

Helena nods, "Looks that way."

"Uh." I stamper, I must look terrifying in my blood covered tee-shirt. My multi-colored hair sticking up in every direction.

"Just say it you don't want to live with the scary girl." She says, a strange look on her face.

"What!?" I say not expecting her to say something like that

"That's what the last girl that was my roommate said, and the one before that, and the one before that."

"No, I thinking I must look terrifying."

"Really?" She says as if giving me a chance to take back what I just said.

"Come with me to the commons area my.... friends want to meet you." She says running her fingers through her teal bangs.

"Okay, but...um, where can i get some non-blood covered clothes." I say glancing down at the mess that are my clothes.

"You can borrow something of mine...or not." she says looking down at her own clothes, a blush spreading on her ivory pale cheeks.

"You're really insecure aren't you." I say, half joking, half not.

"No! I'm...I'm..." She says.

"I'll borrow something of yours." I say.

"Really!?" her head shoots up.

"Yea, sure why not?" I say.

"I think I'm gonna like you Ida." she says.

"Clothes." I say after a moment of silence.

"Check the closet, get anything you want... except the tee-shirt in the front." she says, clearly excited for some reason.

"Oh my god. I love your hair." squeals a peppy blond girl named Amber. Holding a green section between her perfectly manicured fingers.

"Uh, thanks." I say, leaning away slightly.

"Helena, is she wearing your clothes." Says one of the blonde girls groupies.

"Yea." She blushes again.

"You could have just came and got me I'm sure she would have liked something a little less black." She says, nearly laughing in Helena's face.

"This is my favorite band." I pipe up, and it is.

"What!?" She says looking at me, her eyes the size of the moon.

"Yea, Helena doesn't dress to differently than I did...do...um do I use past or present tense." I say confusing myself.

"We aren't sure." Amber says.

"Really?"
"If you haven't noticed. The Phoenixes are kind of ignored most of the time." Helena says.

"Phoenix?"

"Someone was like 'Hey, why don't we have an animal mascot? That was a few death cycles ago though." She continues.

"Oh."

A solid, heavy chime rings throughout the halls making me jump about half a foot.

"That's the dinner bell." Amber says standing up gracefully.

"Come on." Helena says hopping awkwardly to her feet.

"We're dead why do we have to eat." I say.

"Well, we can't exactly die of starvation but, we can fall asleep and not wake up if you don't eat." Helena says as we walk down the crowded hall, already we have been left behind by Amber and her possy.

"Wow." I say unethusicasticly.

"Yea, the only cure is getting sent back to the living world." she says like that would be a curse itself.

"With that said let's get there before all the tacos are gone." I say, laughing.
