Dawn's P.O.V
"I will ask you one more time," Nurse Martinez sighed, "are you absolutely sure you would like to become Levi's new nurse and counselor? He is very problematic."
I nodded my head firmly. I've already made my decision a week ago, when I first met Levi. I'm going to be the one that helps Levi Miller become sane again. Or at least, I hope I do.
"Yes ma'am. I'm positive," I smiled and waited for her response. She looked at me like I had just admitted that I, myself, could see ghosts. She rolled her eyes have me the most obvious forced smile ever.
"Well, okay...." She shoved something into my hands. "Take this and write everything you feel is important while you are in there with him. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me or any other people who work here."
"You got it. I'll make sure to ask you about things if I feel that they should be answered."
She nodded. "Well, okay Dawn. Have a nice day," and with that, she turned around, her noticeable dyed blonde hair bounced off her back. She took long and quick strides to the door as if she were trying to leave as quickly as possible. Knowing Nurse Martinez she probably did.
"Thanks, and you as well." She didn't reply and shut the door a little too harshly.
Yikes. Now I see why she's not married.
Tightly gripping my clipboard I grabbed a blue ballpoint pen off my desk and left my tiny office to Levi's room.
Once I was there I silently slipped through the doorway. Levi was on his bed, hands wrapped around his knees. His eyes were closed.
"Hi, Levi! It's Dawn, remember me? I was here about a week ago!"
Levi's head shot up in my direction as glazed white eyes opened. "Yes," was all his reply. I took a couple small steps forward.
"So, how have you been lately? Sad? Happy? Mad? Lonely—"
"I'm fine," he cut me off, voice stone cold and monotone. I clicked my pen open and wrote, 'feeling fine.'
"Ah, I see. Me too, Levi. It's really cold in here! Are you cold?"
"No, I feel....." He paused immediately. "Stop! Stop! No! No no no!" He screamed, flailing his arms. Then he fell silent again as his arms returned locked around his knees.
I quickly jotted down on my clipboard. 'stopped mid-sentence and began to scream for a few seconds, then fell silent again, fully conscious.'
"Are you okay?"
Before he or I could say anything else the loud speaker went off.
"Nurse Dawn, please report to room 13. I repeat, Nurse Dawn, please report to room 13."
"I'm very sorry, Levi, but I have to go. Perhaps I'll be back later and we could talk again."
I looked at him one last time, Levi just staring into what seems to be oblivion.
I only sighed before I walked out, not taking a look back the crazed man.
Once she walked to room 13 she saw Nurse Martinez standing there with an actual emotion on her face for once. And that worried me.
"Why was my time cut short?" I asked her in a slightly angry tone.
I saw her bite her lip before she looked at me, "There's something else about Levi that you don't know." She stated boldly.
I raised an eyebrow and looked at her, my arms crossed over my chest. "What would that be?"
"Listen I'm only trying to warn you, he can be very dangerous." She said in a wavy voice. "He, he attacks our workers out of nowhere. He put them in a hospital, and when we ask him he denies everything, claiming that he knows nothing." Nurse Martinez said in a warning tone.
My mouth gaped open in shocked, suddenly becoming worried for myself. I then took a deep breath and closed my eyes for a minute. "I'll be fine.." I muttered to myself over and over again.
"Let me see him again?" I said bravely.
She gave me an 'are you fucking kidding me' look, but I don't blame her; I sounded like I should be in here myself.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" She asked me in a serious tone.
"Of corse."
