"No, your joking," I say "Is that why I can hear and smell things that nobody else can."

"Yes, I will tell you the rules of being one of us," he says.

"First, you are not to touch anything that metal, iron or glass because it will burn you. Second, don't go into the vampire territory ever." I can see out the corner of my eye that he is looking at me while he says the first and second rule.

"Why will they rip me to shreds with their bare teeth," I say already know the answer.

"Yes, they will, but let's continue to the rules," he continues. "Where was I." I roll my eyes annoyingly but he didn't notice. "Ahhh......yes,on the third rule. Third you follow whoever is with you if we go hunting, no wondering off. Got it?"

"Yup, no wondering off, no touching metal,iron, or glass, and no going into the vampire territory." After a moment of silence except the crunching of the leaves under are feet. He starts to speak again.

"Fourth, never ever go into the woods or anywhere without someone with or someone keeping a eye on you. Fifth, never fall in love with a vampire or human."

"Ok, I won't do anything to make you mad," I say lying. I can't promise anything to anyone because I am new at this stuff.

"Two more and that's it for the day. Ok, next one don't tell anyone your a werewolf only your pack. Finally, don't get into trouble or try to start a fight with another pack member," he says in a serious tone. We walk a long time in silence. I open my mouth to say something but I close it. I was wondering where and when will we get to the place he is taking me. My legs started aching when we finally got there.

"This is your new home for now anyways," he says. I sit down on the cold hard ground. I pull out my iPod and earbuds. I go click my music button and click the shuffle button. The song "I Still Believe" comes on. I thought to myself this Is gonna be hard not to tell my friends. Suddenly I smell my friend, Ezmia. I follow her scent to the farthest house. I ran into the at first then I finally opened it. I see her cuddled up with her boyfriend, Stefan. She looks like a kitten curled up to her but in this case her boyfriend. Stefan has his chin on her head, while she is curled up against him. I stare in disbelief. Stefan sees me and pokes her. She looks up an we lock eye contact. We both look away.

"What are you doing here?" I say not able looking at her and letting the words roll off my tongue.

"Meilen, I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." she says.

"Tell me what," I hiss at her angrily. I narrow my eyes so she will tell me everything. Always when I narrow my eyes at her, she tells me everything. That is how I used to do at school to get to tell me what wrong. Then I turn to Stefan and he just shrugs. I hear footsteps and the guy that brought me here walks in.

"I will just let you guys handle this one," he says. I grab him by the wrist.

"No, your staying, listening, and telling me this whole thing," I say.

" Meilen, I will tell you this now. I'm a werewolf just like you," said Ezmia.

"Then is Stefan one, too." I say.

"No, he is a vampire," she says. Stefan turns off the TV. I look at him and he nods and shows me his fangs.

"What this can't be happening because Ezmia you can't be in love with a vampire," I say not really caring about the rules.

"Well I did,"

" Well it's happening," Stefan says.

"All in one day, it can't be," I say, "so a werewolf and vampire are dating. I guess I can deal with having a vampire around."

"Good, because he is staying. Also he didn't kill me wen I went into the vampire territory." she says.

"Oh, so I can go into the vampire territory, and become a vampire or fall in love with one." I say with a smirk on my face. I wonder what it would feel like to be a vampire or fall in love with one. I laugh awkwardly, then everybody looks at me like I'm some kind of nutcase.

" No, you can't. I won't allow it." the guy that brought me here says.

"Why your not the boss of me," I say trying to make him spill everything he hasn't told me.

" I will not answer that because you just want me to tell you everything I haven't told you yet."

"Well, you just want me to shut up, don't you," I hiss threateningly. If I were him I would shut up and leave me alone right now. If he were one of my friends he would shut up because when I'm mad I'm evil.

"You mom would want you to listen to me." he says. I hesitate while I try not to cry.

"Well, then you didn't know my mom very well did you." No tears fall. I think gladly of that, because I don't like people watching me cry. Then he runs out with werewolf speed, I think. I turn toward Ezmia and Stefan. My eyes go to look at Ezmia and I can see she narrowed her eyes at me. Then she mouths to me you shouldn't have done that. I mouth back why. I will explain later she mouthed. Stefan and her leave while they hold hands. Then I'm alone.
