Three days had passed since I had received the email. Once my parents got home, I had immediately told them about the good news and they were shocked, but of course supported me. They had placed strict conditions on me leaving however. I could not, under any circumstance fall behind on my school work and I had to call them every morning and every night. They were easy things to agree to because after all, I was going on tour with my favorite band. Today is Sunday and McKenna and I were loading up my mom's car, getting ready to go to the airport. I decided to include McKenna as my plus one because she was the one who signed me up in the first place so technically this wouldn't have happened without her. After much reluctance, my mother agreed to let us go by ourselves. She had some reservations about sending two teenagers alone to Florida but after many assurances on my part, she had agreed. I got even more nervous with every mile that we got closer to the airport. I've never flown on a plane in my life so it's going to be a completely different experience. We got checked in at 10 am for our 11:30 am flight, turned our baggage in, and did all the proper things to do beforehand. Then we went to say goodbye to our parents. "Bye, be safe" my dad said as he enfolded me in a hug. "Don't forget to keep each other safe and call all the time. Have fun!" my mom said as she hugged me as well. After McKenna and I said our goodbyes to our parents, we headed to get some much needed caffeine. Walking into Starbucks, I handed McKenna some money and she went to grab our drinks and breakfast while I found us a seat. "So have you finalized your set list?" she asked as she sat down across from me and handed me my drink and food. "Yep! I sent over my list last night." I told her as I began to sip on my coffee. We made small talk and just walked around until we heard an announcement saying that our flight was boarding. "Flight 390B from North Carolina to Florida". We made our way over and boarded quickly. As the plane took off, my heartrate rapidly increased. My mind was all over the place, so I didn't get much sleep. One thought kept running through my mind: my dreams are finally starting to come true.

The plane ride seemed to go by quickly and soon enough we were landed, off the plane and on our way to baggage claim. Once we had collected our suitcases, we made our way outside to find a taxi to take us to the car rental place. After we arrived, McKenna payed the taxi driver and we made our way inside. The door made a soft ding which alerted the secretary that there were new customers. "Hello ladies, how can I help you today?" the woman smiled at us as we approached the counter. "Hi, I need to rent a car. There is supposed to be one waiting for me" I said unsure. "What is the name?" she asked me. "Adeline Clarke" I smiled at her and she started typing away at her keyboard. "Ok we have a Ford Focus listed, will that be ok?"she looked up at me. Asking was only a formality however because I knew that was the vehicle I would be driving whether I liked it or not. Lucky for me, I liked them. "Perfect" I smiled once again. "Ok I will need a driver's license of the person driving the car." I handed my license over to her after grabbing it out of my wallet. "Thank you, here is a bit of paperwork that you will need to fill out while I get your keys" she handed me the clipboard and walked to the back. About five minutes later, she came back and I exchanged the paperwork and the deposit and upfront fee for the keys to the car and a pamphlet. "Have a good day!" she said as we walked away, "You too" we replied as we walked out of the door and back into the Orlando sunshine. We climbed into the car and I sped off to the hotel. After getting checked in at the hotel, we unloaded our luggage and took everything up to our room. McKenna started unpacking her things and putting them in the drawers while I looked around the room that we would be calling home for the next week. It was very nice and I immediately felt very grateful for the management team going through the trouble of getting us a nice hotel room. I called their tour manager to let him know that we had arrived and to thank him again for everything they had done so far. After I hung up with him, McKenna and I both crashed onto the beds and took a much needed nap.
