Chapter 2:The School

I had cried my self to sleep the rest of the night.

I had so much in my old school I had friends, there were nice kids, easy tests, all my teachers liked me AND Taco Tuesday! I mean who doesn't like tacos on a Tuesday?

Why couldn't the orphanage wait just a few more weeks?

I woke up to the sound of a vacuum cleaner cleaning the carpet of my room.

"Oh hey Julie" I said sounding half asleep to the Julie the maid.

beep beep beep
7:00am

"Thanks Julie,"
She smiled and pointed toward the girls I shared my room with.

I jumped up out my bed and woke up Olivia a ten year old, then woke up Mak, who is nine years old.

Last but not least, Madison, who was almost seven years old, the worst kid ever to wake up.

"Maddi, wake up!"I hollered.

She groaned and ignored me as always.

"Maddi!" I almost yelled

"Huh, huh?"

"Maddi, time for school!"

"Huh what? No its not-"

"Yes hurry up, or we are gonna be late!"

You wouldn't believe how fast they got dressed when I said that.

After dropping them off at the elementary school, I had driven 15 minutes just to arrive at my new school. It was nice colors red, white, and black The school mascot was 'The Ravens".

My last semester ever was at this school ..

I walked into the office,they were nice and welcoming.

"Hi, you must be..."she looked down on her paper"Jessandra Rosado?"

"Umm... yeah, but I go by the name 'Jess'"

"Well hello Jess, I'm Ms. Dumit, your school counselor, would you like a tour of our school?"

"Ya," is all I could slip out.

She had showed me the Lunch room, the nurse, all my classes, the job search area, now she was going to show me the Library .

While on our way to the library a girl stopped to talk to Ms.Dumit. She had a group with her two girls and one guy.

"Well hello Ms. Dumit, funny seeing you here?"

"Well hi Ashely, why aren't you guys in class?"

"Well,we wanted to read some books,so we are going to the library"Ashely said in a preppy voice

"Funny, us too." I said

"Uhh, And who are you?"

Right when I was gonna say something Ms.Dumit cut me off.

"New student, just showing her around." Ms.Dumit said.

Her side girls were laughing to themselves.

"Oh ok, I'll just finish the tour for you myself then!" Ashely said

"No its good" Ms.Dumit said

"Oh please, I insist"

"Ok, good luck on the first day" Ms.Dumit said walking away.

What! She couldn't leave me here with them! People like me don't go well with people like them.

"Well..." Ashely said "This is Phebe" She was pointing to a girl who had blond short hair, "And this is Rosey" She had brown curly long hair and was holding stuffed animal that look like a cat.

"I like cats," Rosey said.

"Rosey, would you shut up?"

She looks at me again and points to the guy "And this is my boyfriend,Wesley." She pulls him into a long kiss. It look like he wasn't into it.

"And you, I never caught your name?" she said.

"Jess" I said quickly.

"Well Jess, welcome to our school. This is how it works here, you don't get in my way and we will be alright..ok?"

"Whatever" I said flatly.

"Ok then, library is that way"she pointed out.

"Didn't you guys say you were going to the library too?"

"Oh honey, everybody knows I don't read..." And she kept walking the other direction.

This is going to be a long semester...
