"Do we have to go?" I asked my dad annoyed because we had to move to Toronto, Canada. "Mom loved it here."

"I know sweetie and I'm sorry I can't afford to stay here with only one income." Dad said before coming up to me to kiss me on my forehead

"I'll get a job." I said as if my dad would listen

"Your only 14, your too young to get a job."

"But why Canada?" I yelled at my dad fighting the burning urge to cry

"I got a job out there that pays double of what I get payed out here." He said smiling at me before turning to go put my bag in the truck and as soon as he walked away my phone rang.

"Hello?" I answered curiously

"Hey, how's it going?" Charlie asked me

"How do you think it's going?"

"Taking it harder than I thought hm?" Charlie said teasingly

"I'm not moving." I said staring the picture that was taken on the day that my dad and my mom got married

"I know it's gonna be a huge change for you but–" Charlie started but I cut him off "A huge change? Try a major change, Charlie I'm moving from Louisiana to Canada." I said almost yelling

"Calm down, I'm sure it's not gonna be that bad." Charlie said

"We have to go, Or we will miss the flight." My dad said interrupting our conversation

"Oh no. Wouldn't want that to happen, now would we?" I said sarcastically before saying goodbye to Charlie

"Lighten up. It's for the best." My dad said giving me a half smile before taking the picture off of the wall and putting it in a box.

Then we were off to Toronto, Canada. I'm not looking forward to this. Most normal people would move to another state for a better job, Not out the country.

"You start school this Monday." My dad said sitting on the new couch that he ordered

"Today is Sunday, I'm not even done unpacking." I said giving him a blank stare

"I know." He said smiling

"Why am I going to school anyway? Nobody is going to want to be friends with a girl from Louisiana. I'm not even sure if they know what Louisiana is." I said rolling my eyes

"Uh, to get an education." My dad said laughing "Your a nice girl, Mercury. That's all that really matters." He said getting up to get a water from the refrigerator. "You should probably get some sleep. Your gonna go need it."

"Fine goodnight." I said storming off to call Charlie

"Made it there safely?" Charlie asked curiously as he answered the phone

"I'm not dead am I?" I said smirking

"Good point. I miss you already baby."

"I miss you too. Are you sure this whole 'Long distance relationship' is going to work?" I asked curiously "I mean I'm in another country. I'm sure Ariana would love have you."

Ariana was Charlie's ex girlfriend and my ex best friend. She knew I liked Charlie since 1st grade yet she asked him out. Even though Charlie said no, it doesn't change the fact that she tried to hurt me on purpose.
