"Shanin!" I heard my mom say. I'm Shanin Deluxe, daughter of Roy and Jinx Deluxe. I'm a normal girl with black hair and really dark brown eyes.
I just moved to this city called Rufus City. My cousin, Mel Deluxe, lives here and said this place was pretty cool.
But that's not the point why I moved, I moved because dad was promoted here. Man, this is a really long way from home. It took us 3 days and 2 nights to travel here. We just arrived 5 days ago. Today is Wednesday.
I'm going to this new school called Rufus University. I hope its nice there, and hopefully I'd meet Mel there too.
"Coming, mom! Coming!" I shouted from upstairs as I ran with a back pack on my back. Great! Its my first day and I might be late for the bus if I wait now. So I ran to the kitchen, took my peanut butter jelly sandwich, kissed mom and dad goodbye, and stuck the sandwich in my mouth as I ran out the door.
I saw the bus and made my pace faster. I was able to make it. I climbed up the bus, at least, not full of sweat (I did have a bit of sweat dripping from my forehead).
Now that I held and took a bite on my sandwich, I looked at the aisle. It was awkward. Nobody knew me. They all stared.
I slowly walked down the aisle while I continued to eat. I tried really hard to ignore their stares, its really uncomfortable.
My breath hitched. I didn't know what to do. Nobody was offering me a seat at all. They just sat and stared. . .like statues!
To my luck, I saw someone smile. It was Mel. I slightly smiled and finally exhaled in relief. I sat beside her.
"Hey," she whispered excitedly, "Oh my gosh! I can't believe you're really here!"
"I know," I whispered back, slightly laughing, "Just keep your voice down, yeah?"
She giggled and nodded. We whispered along the way. I could feel the stares have faded, except I could feel a few stares behind me but I decided to ignore it.
When the bus stopped, Mel and I head to the lockers. No need to worry, I already know my locker number and my schedule. We got it from the school's website online and printed it. This is a pretty cool school.
"You know your locker? Already?" Mel rose a brow, "Didn't you just arrive?"
"Yeah, I did just arrive. But I got my locker number and schedule online when my parents registered me. I printed my schedule." I held the schedule up as we walked to locker 21.
She sighed, "Wow. But my locker's 10, bummer. Gotta go!" And with that, she ran to her locker.

"Introduce yourself please?" The Science teacher asked. This is my 4th period, which means lunch break comes next.
If you're wondering, the school starts classes at 8. Each period is for an hour. Right now its 11:00 sharp. Damn.
I stood up and took a deep breath. I looked at my classmates nervously. Mel wasn't in this class, damn it!
"I'm Shanin Deluxe. I came from Ohalan City. And I'm 18. . ." I looked at the Science teacher to give him a sign that I'm done. Luckily, he understood. He thanked me and welcomed me to this school. Sweet.
"Alright! I want you all to take notes of what I'll be talking about. So listen carefully!" He told us and started talking.
I was taking notes. . .but I seemed to read these before. I went to my previous school's library and started studying in advance. So I wrote all that I know in advance before he was even able to talk about them and set my pen aside.
My pen rolled off my table. . .
I tried catching it with my foot, but it rolled to the back of my seat. I looked back to see a couple of fingers wrapping around it. I looked at the owner, it was a girl with brown hair. I can't seem to catch the color of her eyes since she was looking down.
She held the pen infront of me, "This yours?" She whispered gently.
I nodded and whispered back, "Yeah. . ."
She smiled and handed me the pen, which I gladly accepted. She looked me in the eye, caramel brown, "I'm Ginger, welcome to R.U.."
R.U. is Rufus University.
I thanked her and faced back to the teacher. And as if on cue, the bell rang.
I did what all the kids did, fixed their things, packed their bags, walked out. . .
Ginger walked passed me, she glanced at me for a bit and smiled then walked out the class room. Well, she's one hell of a sweet girl.
I didn't hesitate to walk out as well. I was really hungry. I met Mel on the lunch line, she let me take her place and stayed infront. (She wanted to stay at my back, but I insisted.)
Once it was Mel's turn, I felt like I really needed to go. . . You know, pee.
"Hey Mel," I pleaded, "can you get me my food, I gotta go to the bathroom. I'll meet you at our table?"
"Sure." She whispered.
I ran out and ran to the bathroom. (Mel showed me where the bathrooms are just in case.) I ran in and did what I do.
When I walked out and to the lunch room. I pretty much bumped into someone.
My head hurts.
I held my head and shut my eyes, gritting my teeth a little to ease the pain. When I recovered a few seconds, I looked to see a guy with black hair standing up and offering me a hand. I see his books scattered around us too.
"Sorry," the guy looked at me and smiled-he looks cute-then I took the hand, "Your the new girl, Shanin, yeah?"
I nodded and couldn't help but smile, at least someone talks like me, "Yeah. New kid."
I helped him with his books. When we got them all, he held them tightly, looked at my direction, "See you around!" Then winked. Then he ran.
I was never awe-struck like this before. I stayed there for a bit before finding Mel's table. I found her in no time.
"Saw that." Mel sunddenly said. Just when I was taking a bite of the ham.
"Huh?" I said between my chewing. If mom was here, she'd say "Don't talk and chew, young lady."
"Hello?!" She said eagerly, "You just talked to Jack Dagger! One of the most popular kids in school! That's not something a new student would do."
I almost choked on the ham and rice in my mouth, but I didn't luckily. I swallowed, "First, I didn't know he was popular. Second, kids? There's more?"
She nodded while chewing then swallowed, "Yup, there's also Brisk, Jane, Drake, Bon, Jack-obviously- and Ginger."
Ginger?
"Ginger?" I repeated my question.
"Yeah, why? Have you talked to her?" She asked.
"Yeah, kinda. . ." Then I continued eating.
