we were
sitting under
the tree
in your backyard.
it was quiet
but i can hear
your heart
breaking in your chest
"i love him," you said out of the blue
"i know you do," i answered
"i just-" you ran a
hand through your hair
"i thought we needed space.
maybe a breather,
but not like this!"
you cried, pulling on
the strands of your hair
"im so stupid."
i stood up and knelt
beside you
i removed the hands
from your face and
held them
i wouldve been on
cloud nine holding your hands
but i wasnt
because you were crying
and in pain
"youre not stupid." i said soothingly,
"you just made a mistake.
maybe you can talk to him
and apologize?"
you looked at me
all happiness
drained
from your eyes
"but he doesnt want to speak to me.
he doesnt reply to my texts anymore
nor answer my calls,"
you answered with your
lips trembling
"just give him time.
maybe he needs more time
to think.
lets try next week
okay?"
you nodded and i
hugged you while
you sobbed
onto my shirt.
itd hurt me
to see you two
together again
but if it would
make you happy
then so be it.
