After around a hundred phone calls I'm exhausted. Nobody has a place for me. A few days later I look for a regular job in sweats and a tank top. I walk around our small town and enter a small dress shop that is hiring. The bell rings as I walk in.

"Welcome to Dress 4 Less," A young lady at the counter welcomes me.

I wave and walk over with my confident self. "I see you guys are hiring. Do you have any applications?"

Her face lights up. "Of course!" She leans down beneath the counter and grabs a piece of paper.

I take the paper. "Do you have a pen? I can fill it out right here."

She hands me a pen and I fill it out.

It takes me a few minutes and she reads it after I hand it back. Her eyebrows raise and she holds her hand out.

What does she want?

It hits me then that she wants to shake my hand. We shake and she grins. "You are hired. Can you start tomorrow at 9?"

I blink. What? Doesn't she have to talk to the manager or something? "Do you have to talk to your manager? Are you serious?"

She nods. "I am the manager and I say that you are what we need. Can you come in then?"

I nod. "I'll see you tomorrow," I wave and walk out of the store without even looking through their clothes or prices.

I walk home baffled and go to sleep. Well, I have a job. Now I need to find another job, a real one that I've been working towards.

I spend every waking hour looking at open spots for small parts in Tv shows and movies, and every afternoon working at Dress 4 Less. It is a surprisingly easy job and the pay is lovely. I don't think about anything other than work and looking for work for the next few weeks. I don't even bother to call my sister Maysie. Every evening I do yoga or hang out in the gym to flush the stress out of my system and stay in shape.

Come the next week on Sunday I stop looking. I don't have to work today so I decide to visit my sister. I pull into my parents driveway and she runs out. She collides into me with a big bear hug. She is the cutest 9 year old ever.

"Hey may," I grin as she kisses my cheek.

"Where have you been? You said you'd come over last week." She steps back and lets me walk into the house.

"I know. I have been busy looking for a job and working."

"Did you get a movie part yet?" She asks eagerly.

I shake my head. "I got a job at a dress shop for right now."

She exaggeratedly groans. "You know what would be so cool? If you got to work with Harry Potter!"

Of course. She loves Harry Potter. As do I but not that much. "That would be cool wouldn't it," I say, a little less enthusiastic.

"Come to my bedroom and see what nan sent me the other day!" She grabs my arm and pulls me with her.

I greet my parents with a kiss on the cheek and follow Maysie.

We spend the rest of the day playing barbies in her bedroom and making cookies. Unlike every other time we bake cookies, only one food fight happens today. The kitchen ends up to be a white flour land because I decided to throw flour at her and she threw even more at me. The result of the cookies was good though. The only mistake was that we put a little too much chocolate chips so they were extra chocolaty. I have a feeling Maysie purposely put too much though because she happens to love any form of chocolate.
