Okay, yes. This new kid did look cute. It was a girl. It was a girl named Yagi, and she was part goat.
She had chocolate brown hair and glittering sea-blue eyes. She was fluffy, and looked perfect in every way. She was skinny, but not to skinny. She was chubby, but not to chubby.
She looked at me for a long time, our eyes locked together. I saw her blush under her wool. I looked away, but I knew I would talk to her after class.
After class, I walked over to her.
"Uh, hi." I said, shyly.
Yagi stared blankly at me.
"D-do I know you?" she asked.
"Uh. I know your name is Yagi, correct?"
"Yes. How did you know?"
"You're the new kid, everyone in this college knows all the new kids names. The teacher tells us."
"Okay, but I don't know your name. Might I be able to learn this information from you?"
"Sure, Yagi the Smartypants. My name is Hitsuji. Hitsuji Redi."
She looked at me, she seemed like she wanted to say something to me.
"Uh, do you have something to say?" I questioned her.
She pulled out a piece of paper, scribbled all over it, and handed it back to me. It was some digits. Phone digits.

"Here, just in case, you want to, uh, hang out sometime, and do homework together."
"Uh huh." I said smugly.
We both waved goodbye, but when I looked down at the paper, I realized something I didn't realize before.
Yagi's last name was Kukki.
Neko had the same last name.
Lots of people have the same last name. I thought. But I couldn't quite brush it away.
