I awake each morning, to start a new day.
But the pain of what happened,
Never goes away.
I was here one moment,
And then I was gone.
I had no idea, what was going on.
Fighting for life,
At every twist and turn.
Reaching for you, as I felt the burn.
Everything went dark,
As my breathing subsided.
The memories of my life, had now collided.
I had no choice,
But to give up the fight.
Laying there alone, I knew it was right.
You never gave up,
And this was only the start.
As you rushed to my aide, and restarted my heart.
The pain and confusion,
That suddenly followed.
Was masked by a love, that consumed me and swallowed.
I battled and fought,
To keep my life together.
As the walls around me, had fallen forever.
A year has passed,
And so much has changed.
My temper, my love, my sorrow and rage.
But to those who know me,
To those who stay true.
It is those who inspire me, and this poem's for you.
