It was a dark night. A storm is supposed to arrive here a few minutes ago , but hey, I don't mind. As I'm standing at the place where the one I truly love is resting in peace. I craned my neck towards the dark sky, closed my eyes and thought of how I watched her grow and progress. I opened my eyes as I felt a raindrop on my forehead.
I suddenly smiled to myself. Melissa is watching over me now. As I focused on the dark sky, I then took notice of the moon. It was so big and so bright. It was also so beautiful. Then, as more raindrops fell, it's like the wind was hugging me tight. I felt like Melissa was hugging me.
Approximately two weeks ago, she was diagnosed of some sort of illness and had more or less 10 days to live. Of course, as a partner, I felt devastated. My heart was torn in two. That time, my heart was slowly being frozen.
Day One. Melissa and I went to the amusment park and had a wonderful time. After being diagnosed, she sure had energy. It would seem like she was taking energy vitamins. In fact, it was as if she wasn't sick at all.
Day Two, I came to pick her up and take her to dinner. As I had arrived, her mother told me that she had been vomiting since she woke up this morning. I decided to cancel everything for her sake and take care of her. It was so weird. She was sleeping peacefully one moment and then messing up the floor the next.
Day Three. She's been in bed since she started vomiting. I take her food to her and take good care of her too. She's acting a bit strange. She's being happy one moment and then angry the next.. I also noticed that in the Three days that had passed, she's grown really thin.
Day Four. She asked for me and her parents to kill her and end her misery. It has just been the fourth day, and she looks so sickly and weak. That night, she screamed in her sleep. Are nightmares part of the Symptoms too?
Day Five. I thought she somehow had been cured. Because, she ate so much and didn't look weak anymore! But, it was just a little imagination of mine. As she started eating, she started vomiting blood. Lots and Lots of blood. She cried so hard that blood spattered along the tile floor.I don't want this... I still want my future wife and kids...
Day Six. As she woke up, I thought I saw Death's little sister. She was so deathly pale and her eyes sunk in their sockets. I swear, it's like I saw her if she doesn't eat for a while. This is THAT version of her. She's also having difficulty in walking.
Day Seven. I sat down beside her bed. Three days... Please don't leave me, Melissa... Her mother came to me and placed a comforting hand on my shoulder as tears shined on her eyes as we watched Melissa sleep. Her family and I were talking downstaris. I wish that I was in her shoes instead. We all cried as we looked at photos of her.
Day Eight. I tried to wake her up so that I could at least spend the day with her. My heart pounded on my chest when she didn't open her eyes. I called for her mom and we rushed her to the hospital. Her doctor told us that her illness is still spreading and is still unknown. When we entered her room, she was awake and gave me a tight hug. One that I will never ever forget. She whispered sweet nothings on my ear as my body shook hard from sobbing.
Day Nine. The Last day. Melissa made me promise that I will never ever follow her. I reluctantly did and spent the rest of the day with her and whispered 'I love yous' to her all day. I tried smiling at her while she was still with me.
It was ten o' clock when she started gasping. She started screaming that her chest was painful. The doctor hurridly came and tried everything. He placed a hand on my shoulder and told me that all I could do now was pray. And pray I did. I prayed hard. Thought of every memory we shared as tears rolled on my cheeks. Please... Don't take her away from me... She saved me from total corruption from myself... She's my guardian angel...
I raced to the top of the roof and screamed my lungs out. When I finished, every step I made broke a piece of my heart and efficiently freezing them. As I stepped into her room, the clock striked midnight. And everything became silent. Forver.
