Hated

Chapter 2

Jack woke up on a sidewalk that he did not recognize. Looking around, there was nobody in sight. From a distance, he saw a girl approach him. As she came closer, he panicked. She approached him and reached her hand out. He accepted and pulled himself up off the ground. "Hi, I'm Mike but I prefer to be called Michelle" she kindly spoke. His eyebrows furrowed together and he chuckled. "oh, you are transgender. That's stupid". She looked at him square in the eyes and whispered,"You are not from around here, are you?".

"why would you think that? and no I'm not" he replied. She spoke in a hushed tone,"are you straight?" When she said the last word, she became suddenly paranoid and rapidly glanced around her. He nodded his head and she stared at him. A moment later, she pointed to a house and led him there. As she closed the door behind her she said,"You have a lot of nerve being straight. People don't accept straight people." she told him. "If I'm not accepted here, then who is?" Jack replied harshly. "Gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders, asexuals, and everyone BESIDES straight people". He questions what she had against straight people to which she replied," absolutely nothing except they don't understand that being us is NOT A CHOICE and they try to change us. We banned straight people 20 years ago. Of course, the bisexuals can date someone of the opposite gender and so can the transgenders but we got rid of the HOMOPHOBIC straight people. We allowed the allies to stay in our community because they supported us all along. Most of the straights moved to a different country, and some actually ended up being gay and came out and found their true selves."

Jack inched closer to her and shouted," I hate gays! they are liars and it goes against everything I believe in!" She snorted at him. "I can help you not be hated by the entire community if you want". He reluctantly nodded his head and she dragged him back outside. "act normal. But don't tell anyone your sexuality. Most people would beat you up on the spot if they knew" she said. Jack though back to when he was kicking Tyler because he was gay. Now, people could kick him because he was straight.

"so let me get this right: the only people who are allowed to live her are the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, asexual, and allies? that's not fair" Jack whisper yelled. "It is. We accept those who accept us. I am going to make sure you learn to accept everybody" she replied, smiling. "whether you like it or not".
