Chapter 14

Nya

This only makes me angrier."You are not my parents!" I yell.

"Tone it down little girl." The guy says sternly.

I smirk and say "and what exactly are you going to do about it."

He's about to say something when I cut him off.

"Beat me?" I ask hysterically"Or starve me? Torture me?Really, trust me you can't do anything to me I haven't experienced before."

"Why would we do that?" He asks quietly

"Why would anyone do that? Because I'm a worthless orphan. That's why.Even if you were my parents I wouldn't want to be near you. That would mean you were the people who let me be taken and thrown into a life of abuse for fourteen years!" I end up shouting the end.

"We're sorry!" The woman bursts out crying and falling to her knees.

I shake my head.

"I'm more than you know.I'm strong now. I'm not that tiny baby you threw away anymore.I'm a gangster." I say quietly.

"Of course you are.Your a born gangster." The woman says looking up with a mascara stained face.

"Yea,Marco's born gangster." I say defiantly.

"That man isn't as anything to you!"

"Yea,whatever."

I go over to the window and examine the bars.Tracing them with my finger.

"It's impossible to get though them." The woman says beside me scaring the crap out of me.

I glare at her"That's what you think."

She laughs.

"Something funny?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing." She says shaking her head.

I toss my hair dismissively.

Marco

She never made it home.I run my hands through my hair frustrated.Where the Hell is she!?!

I checked her room and everything was still there.

I had no choice but to call the police. It was a last resort, but it had to be done.

They've already found a convienent store camera video of a knocked out Nya sitting in the back seat of a car.

It's bad enough she's gone. My son Antonio has been gone since I resorted to finally calling the cops.I found him in her room.He looked around before leaving without a word.Anthony has been withdrawing himself and daydreaming. All in two days it seems like I'm losing my sons just like her.

The police left and told me just to sit tight. My guy dropped off the files I've been waiting for.

I take a deep breath before opening the first of the many pristine white folders.
