You called yourself the land of the rising sun. I remember our first meeting, it was in a bamboo forest, I was taking my morning stroll. Imagine my surprise when I saw you there, you were so small and cute.
You were also rude, yes. You didn't acknowledge me as your brother. You didn't want to use my calligraphy. Though, I remember the nights where we stared at the moon and I told you the story of the rabbit in the moon making medicine. You always listened to them, and you argued that the rabbit was pounding mochi.
Then came the day, I suppose the bird must leave the nest. But why? Why did it have to be this way. I remember the screams of my people as I lay there on the floor. Bleeding from the wound you gave me. It left an aweful scar on my back.
In WWII I saw you get bombed, I felt happy. You have finally been defeated, I was happy cause you would finally know the pain I felt. But in a way I felt your pain as if it was my own. When I saw you I felt my heart shatter. You looked so weak, not like the Japan I knew.
But you got back to your feet, I was relieved to see you better. I could sense my people's thoughts. They hated you, they hated the Japanese. I hoped it would cease, though I understand their anger. The Nanking Massacre cannot be forgiven.
You even have the audicity to not apologize. Have you forgotten what you put me through? What you put your siblings through?
Your people killed so many people, the blood stained on the ground. Corpses of dead people scattered on the streets. It hurt to see one of my people die in front of me.
Now, our people still hate each other. We usually don't get along, you take the other side as usual. What happened? Where did I go wrong?
I invited you over for tea, I looked at you from the other side of the table. You sipped your tea slowly as if savoring it. We were in the garden, the sun was about to set. I remember what you said to me the first time I met you.
'Hello China the land where the sun sets, I'm Japan where the sun rises.'
You were so rude before. There are times I look at you and I feel a surge of pride, you have grown to be a fine man. I sighed and watched as the sun set.
"China-san are you arright?" Japan asked. "You have been awfurry quiet and you keep staring at me."
"Ah~ Don't worry about me, aru. I'm just thinking of the past." I said. Japan nodded and sipped his tea. "How about you Japan?"
"I'm fine China-san" He answered and I felt the wind sweep around us. It was starting to get dark. The moon was going to come up soon. Japan looked at the sky, and sighed. "It's getting dark, I wirr be going now."
"Stay for dinner, aru" I said. I was surprised, why did I ask him to stay?
"It's arright China-san, I don't want to bother you" He said and stood up.
"No it's fine" I insisted. Japan decided to stay and we ate dinner. We sat outside, directly facing the moon. The exact same place where we watched the moon together.
"Remember this, aru?" I asked. Japan sighed contentedly. I looked at the moon, it seems like a long time since I've looked at the moon with someone else. "It's nice to take a break once in a while."
"Hai, it has been a rong time" Japan muttered. I nodded and we stared at the moon for a long time. The only sounds were the sounds of the crickets.
"There's a rabbit making medicine in the moon." I said. I saw the ghost of a smile appear on his face. I couldn't help but smile by that sight.
"No... I think the rabbit is pounding mochi." He said. I sighed it seemed like old times. Like nothing ever happened. As if it has always been like this.
Though I know that is not the case, I can't erase the past, the past where we were always on different sides.
I am the moon and you are the sun.

I don't know what to say about this one-shot. I'm being serious I don't know what to say at what I just wrote. Anyway explanation time:
I am featuring Japan and China's relationship. Some of the Chinese and Japanese don't really like each other due to their past. The Nanking massacre... I'd rather not talk about. Japan is known as the land of the rising sun. I just decided to make China represent the moon cause in Hetalia he talks about the moon to Japan.
Disclaimer: I don't own Hetalia.
