Buffy's P.O.V
so Today my assistant that I'm going to have to kill arrives. I believe her name is Mackenzie. I have made two lists about the girl. They went like this:
.Things I like about Mackenzie
- nothing.
.Things I don't like about Mackenzie
-Everything.
Harsh I know, but nothing in my life has been anything other than harsh. A knock at my bedroom door makes me lift my head. A Short girl walked into my room. I stood and looked her up and down before walking a circle around her taking every aspect of her, much like a predator and its prey. "And your my partner?" I snapped. She shot a glare at me. I let out a snort of laughter. Government was truly dropping their standards. They really must be desperate. She let out what could be described as a growl before pinning me to a wall. "Shut it" she snapped in my face. With ease I changed our position and pinned her hard against the wall. I leant in, my face now closer to hers. "Gladly but never try anything like that again or I will snap your bones got it?" I growled. She didn't answer. I tightened my hand that held her throat against the wall. She choked slightly. "I said got it?" I tried again and she gave a small nod before I released her. She dropped to the floor clutching her throat and coughing. "Get out" I yelled turning my back to her. I heard her scramble out of my room. I smile slightly, satisfied at how well that went. A measly knock at my door made me turn my head as I saw a sheepish Mackenzie peek round the doorframe. She caught my eye and instantly straightened up trying to show authority. "892 alert, government wants you to handle it" she snarled. A hint of jealousy tinging her Irish voice. I smirk knowing she's pissed that they didn't ask her. I sauntered past her stopping just long enough to snarl "Just remember they always want the best to do the job for them" at her before walking out my room, making sure to barge my shoulder into hers, and downstairs. I looked around before grabbing my belt and running outside towards the smell of werewolf. Nasty vile things they are, worse than a rabid dog. I came across the street to see them. A whole pack. I count at least 16. This is worse than I originally anticipated. My options are limited but splitting them up will work best. So I set to work climbing the building on the right of them reaching the roof and standing above the pack. With that I jumped straight into the middle of them sending them scattering and yelping like puppies. I grinned and shot a few down. I killed at least five. But that's when the rest turned back to me. They looked at each other and slowly stalked in towards me. Screwed is an understatement for my position right now. I looked around for a form of escape and came up with nothing. I gave the area another quick scan and saw a rope hanging between two buildings. It wasn't much and I'm not sure if it'll hold my weight but it's all I've got. So with that I sprinted towards it jumping onto to back of a werewolf and using it to spring onto the rope. I grabbed it and started to go the roofs. I finally reached it and stood up. The werewolves weren't giving up though. They stood below me. I began to run hearing their shallow breaths beneath me as they kept up. I landed on a mossy tile and my foot slipped causing me to slide off the roof right in front of the pack. I stood straight up and sprinted again. I sprinted for twenty minutes the pack refusing to give up. My lungs burned my legs and body screaming for me to stop, now begging for oxygen. But breathing is a luxury I can't afford right now as I pushed myself harder. I couldn't do this much longer. Everything burns. I came across a clearing not noticing they'd chased me to the woods. Clever, this is their territory, they know what they're doing. I stopped turning to face them. I'm not going down without a fight that's for sure. I smirked as I saw one of them. "Grimmy how nice of you to join us!" It snarled at me. "C'mon bud that's no way to treat an old friend is it now?" I taunted. He pounced and I kicked him down. "DOWN FIDO" I snarled. He creeped towards me and I put the gun between his eyes. "I'll shoot" I snarled. He nodded and backed down again. I lowered the gun. Grimmy howled and the pack attacked. I fought them off but they just kept coming. They came in a circle around me.
I heard a thud behind me and turned to see Mackenzie. I shrugged slightly. We fought together, it was rough and jumbled making us look like amateurs, however eventually we won, we were out of breath and slightly sweaty as we walked back to the apartment. I was nothing but hostile, refusing to continue her small talk, and when I could, to even acknowledge her. "This doesn't mean I want to, but we have to work together." She sighed as we reached the door. I stayed silent. "I suggest a truce at least" she mumbled. "No." My reply was simple and sharp. I stormed inside leaving her standing outside.
I don't want to work with her. And I never will.
