So, this wonderful Christmas holiday came to an end, and Silver still wanted to see old friends and catch up. So, in the middle of winter mind you, we(for some reason) went to the capital. But hey, city folks are easier to steal from so I'm not complaining. I still hate the way the people act. It's like they're...afraid of taking risks, breaking laws, and being normal. Sure Fya's pretty 'barbaric' according to some people in Kry and those invaders with the emblem of a hammer, what were they called? Eh, I call 'em dead. However, in our country's terms, they're the barbarians. Life lesson, if you point your finger at someone, you got at least three fingers pointing back at you. Either way, Crow, Jade, and I followed Silver to what looked like...the castle? Did he know one of the servants or something? With such formal and important people nearby, I went by my tribal name.(in case you haven't noticed, if I don't want to be seen as a criminal, I use my Dia forsaken tribal name. No matter how much I hate the person who gave it to me)

Silver went right inside the gates, not even looking back. Immediately, we were taken into a large corridor with tall windows and strange paintings. It was lit by grand chandeliers that swung from the ceiling. I heard Jade squeak in amazement as she hid behind Crow, who remained silent. I continued walking through the boring architecture and looked at Silver with a confused expression.

"Who do you know here?" I said after we reached the end of the corridor.

"Oh, I just think you should meet Adalayde. She's pretty cool." He said opening a door into yet ANOTHER dark wood room with high, painted walls, and tall windows. Honestly, all the rooms looked the same. Our palaces are adorned with much more gold, white sandstone, red sand stone, sapphire, emerald, and any other light, shiny, reflective rock that you could think of. I sighed at the mention of this 'Adalayde' person. I knew who it was. I hated who it was. She was the princess.

"How the heck do you of all people know the princess?!" I asked in a flat tone. I looked ahead and saw her. Stupid dress, pale skin, clearly cheaply made crown. I saw her assess me up and down. I watched her eyes move from my long, light brown Lacer hair to my clearly Fyan face and down to my desert-worn black boots. Finally after a small eternity, she looked back up into my teal, Lacer eyes. Silver stepped up to greet her.

"ADALAYDE!!" ran and gave her a quick hug. She quickly hugged him back and then returned her attention to me. "It's been so long, how have you been?" Silver continued, obviously not getting the intention of our staring. Her hand moved ever-so-slightly to her rapier hilt, signaling her unease about me. There was a minute of silence as Silver stared at the princess blankly while she stared at me while I stared at her sword. There was something off about it. I felt like it had its own dark, almost destructive aura around it. How she couldn't feel it, I didn't know. I also didn't know how everyone else couldn't feel it. I, and I assume only I, could hear a faint humming noise coming from it too. I acted like it wasn't there and that it wasn't completely and utterly AGGRAVATING.

"Who are they?" Adalayde asked, mostly referring to me, slightly referring to my hooded apprentice (I don't know why, but having a hood up is seen as 'disrespectful' in the presence of royalty).

"I'm Foraen of the Lacer tribe, Fya as you can guess," I said, honestly more disrespectfully as I had intended, "And you must be-"

"Princess Adalayde of Kry, pleased to make your acquaintance."  she said fakely with a fake smile only used by fakers who really mean the opposite of what they say. We both turned to Crow and I gave him a 'you better not mess this up' look.

"I'm Crow of the Narrig tribe of Colis." He said simply ( By the way, the Narrig tribe is slowly dying because on unknown disease, most likely caused by the invaders of the south or something, Crow told me that with the disease and the monster attacks he had no choice but to flee and seek help from the most famous monster slayer of them all *cough cough* kill like a hundred in one night *cough cough* destroyed like, three packs in an hour *cough cough* don't mean to brag or nuthin'). I politely (or as politely as I could, I mean, I am me) nodded to him and turned around to Jade.

"Ooooh! I'm Jade!...of...th-the dragons?" She guessed, not knowing what to say after 'Jade'. She smiled in that way that only drunkards and little girls could as I turned my attention back to the princess.

"Now that introductions have been made, that's quite the large sword you're carrying Foraen," She said looking at the sheath on my back. "It's a bit surprising that you can use it, considering..." She trailed off as I finished the sentence in my mind. Considering that I'm a woman? Considering I'm a Fyan? Considering I'm a LACER?! I thought.

"What? Considering what? Considering I'm a woman? Considering I'm a Fyan? Considering I'm a Lacer? Huh?" I said speaking my mind completely, no filter, no problems. I readied my hand to move to the hilt at any moment I needed to. I saw her want to nod, but not quite. She just moved her hand closer to her evil-aura rapier. Silver was probably expecting a fight since he started backing away from us.

"No..." she said after a small eternity. "Considering that its our sacred sword, Trisor! It only works if-"

"Okay, shut up, you know nothing about it. Do you even know what kinds of hexes are in this thing?!" I cut her off "Dialianarasindiricisindalli!! I muttered the hex words while drawing the blade. The veins of lava lit up withing the obsidian surface of the sword. I let out a breath trying to clam my breathing and heart rate that I hadn't known was rising. "Allianishcilari!" I said watching her draw her rapier. I sent a couple of hexes her way, watching the dark cloud of magic leave my skin and speed its way over to the rapier. It formed its way into three spear-like line of darkness. I honestly wasn't even aiming for the princess and more aiming to break that aggravating sword of hers. Adalayed tried to slash at the hex, but the strange thing was, the hex shattered before it hit the blade. The hex almost illuminated some sort of barrier around the sword. To my luck, the hex wasn't the only thing that broke. The rapier also shattered into pieces. We both looked up from the pile of sword.

"Well...That's never happened before..." I said trying to break the silence.

"I've never seen real magic before, let alone this..." She agreed. I put Trisor back into its sheath and looked at the remains of my broken hex. Purple-black dust covered the dark grey sword pieces in a pile of confusing mess. "Was that supposed to happen?" the princess asked, picking up a piece of her shattered sword.

"No. I mean, it was supposed to break your sword, but it wasn't supposed to break my hex..." I said picking up a little bit of the dust left behind from my magic. I still felt the heat from the lava veins on my back, but didn't feel like acknowledging it.

"What exactly was that?" Silver asked idiotically

"Magic, more specifically a hex, even more specifically Spears of the Air and Earth." I explained. "So, mind telling me what that sword was made of?" I asked

WEEEEEEE... this is wayyy super late but, whatever. I will get more artwork soon when Daybreak's not lazy. I think she was going to get you that Jade pic but...well, she didn't care enough to do it for you. :P let the lazy be lazy and the thieves be thieves.
