The CATAVENTO MAN

They said not to go out of the house, also said to be good, obedient children to parents, but the man weathervane would catch us. Early in the morning we received the news that a child's body had been found in the cemetery of the port, not the boy more than twelve years old, was without one arm, I do not know him by name, but already saw him playing with the other children, another dead child, was found leaning against the wall of the small church, this was without eyes, another in an abandoned house, missing his ears and the other with the severed head, left under a tree, all of them were found in the street, the street of the cemetery. The same street where he lived the witness who saw the maniac. Inside his house dark and locked as a strong, muttering about that man weathervane. That street was closed by the police, people wanted to invade the house of the mysterious man and kills him, the parents of the children found, urged that, they thought that this man was the culprit. Good after all they had to blame someone. Locked in my room I could hear Daddy and Mommy talking in the room.

--- You think he's even the maniac?

--- I do not know, but nobody ever saw him, we do not know what kind of person he can be.

--- That story is true? Cris and Tomy, disappeared last night?

--- Yes, their parents are on the verge of collapse, the whole family is looking for. Indeed now, our son is the last child of the city.

--- Let's make sure it stays that way.

Dad spoke of a shadowy way. The night as I tried to sleep, I heard a noise in the kitchen, seemed the wind or whistle, something like that, the door to my room was opened, I looked everywhere in that dark room, but all I could see, took the form of a monster or ghost, wind noise up the stairs, I wanted to close the door but my fear was causing my legs not to wiggle. I tried to scream my parents, but my voice did not come out. I was sure that tomorrow I would be no longer the last child of the city, in fact tomorrow there would be more children in some Woondervile. (To be continued)
