Chapter 3
Avalon
I tied the shirt tighter around Cameron's wound, but the blood was steadily soaking out. After a moment of deliberation, I glanced at him again. He had dark, messy hair and deep blue eyes, which were dimly glinting with pain.
I guessed that we couldn’t just stay there all night, so I finally spoke up.
"Cameron?"
He turned his sharp gaze at me and narrowed his eyes. "What?" He said harshly.
Well what was stuck up his ass? I just saved his life, for crying out loud.
"I—I need to go. Are you coming?"
"Yeah, I don’t suppose I have any other options. Where are we, anyway?"
I frowned. “I’ll explain later.”
He rolled his eyes and shrugged. “Okay.”
"Come on."
I trudged off towards the city, with a slightly bloody Cameron and Luanna following behind me.

Everyone cheered when I emerged from the woods, but the cheering died down when they caught sight of Cameron stumbling after me.
“Avalon… What is the meaning of this?” My father, King Dylan, strode up and thundered loudly.
“I found him in the woods, about to get eaten by wolves. I couldn’t just leave him there,” I protested.
Dylan rolled his eyes and sighed. “Okay, take him to the mansion. I’ll need to have a word with him.” He turned abruptly and strode away.
I faced Cameron, who was gazing around in wonder at his surroundings. Well, compared to Earth, Ergamine is significantly more… rural, seeing as the magic in the air interferes with the technology. Also, the signals that the tech gives off basically attract demons to no end. We have one main computer in the mansion, but because the city center is so well guarded, hardly any demons can get in.
Within seconds, Ever, Alex and Raven had raced over and slid to a stop beside me. “Hey, new kid,” Ever purred, running a slim finger along his arm. “What’s your name.”
I glared at her. Why? I don’t even know. She’s entitled to do whoever she wants to do. But why did I feel a twinge of relief when Cameron brushed her wandering hand away absently and said, “Its Cameron, Britney.”
Ever frowned. “Britney?”
He blushed, looking at all of us full on. “Its nothing.”
“No, it’s more than nothing, Cameron,” I said, stepping closer. “I know, that where you’re from, there are people who look exactly like us. But it doesn’t mean that we are that person.”
Cameron looked a little stunned. Pointing to Ever, he said, “She looks like Britney. One of my gir- ex’s BFF’s.” Turning to Raven, he said, “He’s like Jeremy. From football, the best wide receiver on the team.” He then cast a glance at Alex. “Reece was one of my wingmen, next to—,” he choked, unable to finish.
Lastly, he turned his stormy blue eyes to me. “You, look like my ex,” he said evenly.
“When did you guys break up?” Ever asked curiously with a frown on her face.
“A few hours ago, I guess.” Saying that, he seemed to remember where he was. “Wait a second, where am I anyway… and I’m not budging till I get some answers,” he said, crossing his arms stubbornly.
