Scene 1
"Cheryl! Jackie! Come down and have your breakfast! " Miss Jade, their mother, called from the kitchen.
"Coming!" Cheryl and Jackie chorused. Minutes later, loud,thumping footsteps could be heard running down the staircase.
"Goodness,girls! You are not elephants! " exclaimed Miss Jade in disgust as she placed their breakfast, which consists of chocolate milk with cornflakes.
"Mum! Why don't you wake Tiffani and Toby as well? It's not fair that Jackie and I have to wake up so early!" squealed Cheryl.
"Don't you forget that the Grade 6 students are taking their national exams, Cheryl dear. Tiffani and Toby do not need to go to school for 5 days," explained Miss Jade.
"Then we will not need to go to school when OUR seniors are taking their national exams!" exclaimed Jackie,eating up her cereal.
"No no no,Jackie dear. By then you girls would already have your year end semester break! So it is not affected at all. It is during your holidays," explained Miss Jade.
"Aaww... " Jackie responded monotonously.
Cheryl had finished her cereal. "I am done eating, mum! I'm going!"
"Hey Che! Wait for me!" Jackie gulped down her last few drops of milk quickly.
"Calm down,Jack! You'll get indigestion! " Miss Jade called after Jackie as she rushed to put on her shoes and grab her bag,heading for the door.
SLAM! Both Cheryl and Jackie had left for school.
Miss Jade sighed as she set off to wash the empty cereal bowls.
Scene 2
"Tobs.. did you heat that loud slam?" It was Tiffani. Both Tiffani and Toby share the same room together and they sleep next to each other,side by side.
"Yes..I did. It woke us up. I knew it. Jackie is forever like that. Catching up with Cheryl! My goodness!" exclaimed Toby from her bed.
"I know right! At least show some consideration for her two younger sisters who were still sleeping!" Tiffani retorted.
Just then,they heard their door being knocked.
"Quick,let's pretend to be asleep! " Tiffani whispered.
Miss Jade entered the room to find Tiffani and Toby "fast asleep ".
"Wake up girls. I knew you have already woken. The way Jackie has slammed the door earlier must have woken you girls up. Come on!" said Miss Jade.
Toby and Tiffani peeked out from their blankets,then got up and jumped at Miss Jade with their blankets,squealing," Mummy! "
Miss Jade smiled. "I knew you were pretending! Get off me, girls,you're getting heavier."
