It had been a few days since Mike had pulled the little ‘kidnapping’ stunt. I wouldn’t really say I was kidnapped, because before I could be taken away, the guys found and saved me. I had very blur images of what happened. It’s like someone drugged m e into forgetting it. Or maybe my brain was unwilling to accept Mike was there again.
But now, he was gone. First to the hospital, because the guard shot his arm, and then to jail. It was the first time that I had heard a gun shot so closely. It was probably why I fainted. I mean, what girl hears a gun shot on a daily basis? Maybe a female swimmer competing for the Olympics, but certainly not me. I had no clue how long I’d been out because when I woke up, it was slightly dark. Abby told me that I had slept for more than half the day. Well, that was me. Jump out of a problem, and have a deep slumber.
Well Abby had also told me Zayn had helped me sleep that night. In fact he was in the same bed, trying to help me get some rest. I could still feel his fingers rubbing into my scalp, helping me sleep, but the previous, dreadful events still were groggy.
I pulled a towel, wrapping it around myself as I stepped out of the shower. For the past few days, even though the lads had been busy with the new album and the studios, whenever they came home they’d bring pizza, or ice cream pints and we’d all just talk and watch t.v before heading to bed.
Today, however, was their day off. Zayn had asked me to get ready as he intended to take me somewhere. I didn’t know where though, but I didn’t care as long as I got time to spend with him. I yanked the hanger out of the dress that I was going to wear. Nothing fancy, we were just going to spend the evening, as what he had told me. I pulled the checkered navy blue and white shirt. It was longer than your average shirt, but not really long. I slipped it on, rolling the sleeves and buttoning them. I grabbed my denim jeans quickly pulling them on before I left the washroom. It was all blue today. I put on light makeup, small blue studs, and two leather bracelets before slipping on my shoes and grasping my purse.
Grabbing my phone, I checked for any texts. There was one.
From: Zayn
Are we ready? ;) x
I smiled before quickly texting back.
To: Zayn
Yep, I’m coming : )
I strutted out the door, and down the hall to see Zayn already standing there. He was wearing a plain white shirt, with a black jacket and black jeans. He was all about black today.
Black and white, blue and white. Not bad, right?
I watched the amused expression on his face as he rolled his tongue between his teeth. Even from afar, his eyes sparkled like the brightest star in the sky. I blushed, walking towards him as we linked arms and walked towards the door.
In the living room was nearly everyone, with the exception of Louis and Liam who were probably out as well. Niall lay on the sofa, with his legs on Abby’s lap, and his head on Harry’s lap. Shouldn’t it be the other way round?
“Shall we”, Zayn whispered in my ear. I averted my gaze from the living room, back to the door as we headed out.
~The ball spun across the platform, knocking the bowling pins down. I only managed to knock 4 down, while the remaining 6 stood proudly, mocking me. I grabbed the bowling ball for my second try, and spun it again. 4 more knocked down, making my score an 8. It was weird how my total score was more than Zayn’s. Nevertheless, I was winning and having fun.
“Your turn”, I turned around to Zayn, who was standing there watching the bowling pins being replaced. He picked up the bowling ball; the ball spun down, weakening midway and only hit 2 of the bowling balls at the end. He went again. This time, the ball hit neither of the pins.
“Are you sure you’re even playing fair”, I asked him, throwing my arms across his neck, “You can’t be that bad.”
“I am”, he smiled, pecking my lips, “You can ask the lads.”
He looked at the bowling pins being set again. “Are you letting me win?”, I asked him all of a sudden. He looked at me, before smirking and shaking his head.
“Nooo”, he laughed, walking to one of the tables and sitting down. I followed, sitting across from him. The place was nearly empty. There were a few muscular men having a game of bowling, and a couple who were making out more than playing. It was a wicked timing. 1 PM; peak time of school and work. If it were evening, Zayn would probably be mobbed, and I’d be sitting here watching him get mobbed. But lucky for us, the mall was not that full. Especially the bowling alley.
“Give it your best shot then”, I grinned. No matter how bad he played as compared to the lads, I knew he was way much better at the game than me.
Zayn looked back to the bowling pins before looking at me and smirked.
Oh, that smirk.
He walked over to the machine containing the bowling balls. He stuck his fingers, lifting the ball as he stood and bent down, aiming.
“Best shot, Zayn”, I called out, watching him swing his arm back and forth, releasing the ball. It spun at an incredible speed, before making contact with the bowling pins.
STRIKE!
All ten bowling pins went down. Zayn spun around looking at me as I stood up and walked over to him. Crossing my arms across my chest, I spoke up. “I knew you were letting me win”, I faked an angry look.
“Just to make you happy”, he bit his lip, scratching the back of his head.
I grinned. “I know!”
He rest his hand on my waist, pulling me closer. “How about we ditch the game and grab a bite before it get’s too crowded?”
“Sounds like a plan”, I agreed willingly.
We headed to a small café, within the mall. It was warm and cosy, with a scent that made my stomach grumble. It wasn’t much filled. Just a few people were there; a couple, a young boy with his gran, and a teenage boy with earphone whilst he did his homework. We found a spot and sat down, looking into the menu.
Let’s just say, the place was not cheap.
Soon the waitress came, taking up our orders, and we were left alone again. Looking around, I discovered the place was actually quite calming. The walls were painted to a very light lime shade. The one that gives out a cool, relaxing feeling. I inhaled deeply, the aroma of freshly baked cookies wafted through the air, filling up my nostrils. I looked at Zayn, to see him chuckling.
“What”, I questioned, pouting.
“You’re clearly hungry”, he snickered. I narrowed my eyes at him, watching him call for a cup of water. Upon its arrival, he set it in front of me.
“Don’t look at me like that it looks like you’re gonna chew me down”, he joked, grinning at me, “Drink up some water, the food will be here soon.”
And that’s what I did. I gulped the cup of water down, and we sat in anticipation of our food. We had mini talks in the meanwhile, talking from our days before we met each other and our childhood, to the days that lay ahead of us.
After the food, we left the mall, walking down the street to a park near by. It was filled with toddlers running around, taking turns on the swings. Again, not many teenage fangirls were here at this time. Majorly just mothers with their young ones. A few mothers even came to take autographs for their daughters.
We walked around the park for a good half an hour before we decided to head back. There were a few flashes. Of course the papparazi had to complete their part. The car wasn’t that far, and the bodyguard, who was also the driver because Mr. Malik didn’t know how to drive, sat inside. We made our way to the car, sitting at the back. Snuggling closer, I realized this was one of the best days of my life.
