Chapter 5- A New Face

Kate Pov

After I introduced Lily to my siblings I decided to go find my dad. "Come on Lily I want you to meet my daddy, you too Sam I have a surprise." I told her leading her out my front door. The crisp breeze ruffled my hair a little as I rubbed my hands across my arms, the breeze felt great. I looked over at the many barns we have and decided he was in the blue one. I grabbed Lily's hand and pulled her with me.

"I'm glad you got along with my siblings so well they really like you." I complimented. Then noticed Lily looked scared "don't worry you will love my dad they are all the opposite of me except Emmy of course she can be a little stuck up." Lily smiled and seemed to relax.

We walked into the main thoroughbred barn and saw my dad talking with somebody on the phone. "I don't care what happened I need that damn mare here by tomorrow!" He argued with the man on the phone. My dad is not the violent type so I wasn't surprised he was calm. He looked up at us and smiled holding up a finger telling us to give him a minute. I looked at him closely.

He was dressed in a pair of faded blue jeans with a blue plaid button up and a plain white tee. He had black hair that was a little shaggy but not long and he had the most gentlest looking face with wrinkles and light grey eyes. He was holding his cowboy hat. My dad was pretty attractive for his age. "Alright thank ya i'll see ya in the mornin mhm bye" he said with his country accent.

He looked up and smiled at us, "daddy this is Lily she lives across the street. Lily this is my dad" I introduced them.

"Howdy there little lady call me J.T. It stands for Jerry Tyler nice ta meet ya." He stuck out his hand

"Nice to meet you too J.T. You have a nice family." I watched as she snuck a glance at me.

"Aw thanks Hun I don't think there to shabby myself" he smiled showing his perfect teeth while giving me a one arm hug, we all laughed.

"Hey Lily?" A soft but strong voice rang out behind us. We all turned around and I stopped dead. The girl in front of me had beautiful auburn that cascaded down a little past her breast, she had striking cobalt eyes, and her face was flawless. I am not one who is into redheads but this girl was absolutely gorgeous!

"Oh hey June what's up?" Lily asked with a slightly annoyed tone.

"Mamma Bear wants you home so she can talk to you, but be warned Erick is there again." She replied with a slight fear to her face.

"Oh okay, guys this is June my cousin she lives with me and Sarah. June this is J.T., his daughter Kate, and his boy Sam." Lily introduced us. She looked at my dad and shook his hand, then looked and smiled a million dollar smile staring into my eyes.

"Hi," she chirped before turning her attention to Sam, "hi little buddy" she cooed kneeling down. She was in a cute purple sundress with her hair down and light make up.

"Hi, guess what!" Sam jumped up and down.

"What!?" June questioned excitedly turning her head slightly.

"Today's my birthday!" Exclaimed Sam with a toothy smile.

"Oh my gosh really, let me guess with those arms of steel your 10?!" June guessed playfully.

"No!" Sam smile got bigger.

"11?" She asked, he shook his head no.

"Alright I give up!" She threw her hands in the air.

"I'm 5!" He giggled as she ruffled his hair standing up.

"Wow your a big boy aren't you!" She she smiled.

"Now that my son's ego just went sky high, I think Kate has something to show him." My dad laughed. Lily turned to me and pulled me over to her.

"Hey um can June stay here a bit while I take care of something?" She asked.

"Of course," I replied flicking my eyes towards the redhead who happened to be watching us.

"Thanks, June you stay here a bit I will call you when it's okay to come home!" Lily announced. That caused my dad and I to stare at each other cautiously. We watched as Lily made her way over to her own yard before I turned around and looked at Sam.

"Sam you ready for your suprise!" I questioned.

"Yeah!" He yelled running over to me.

"Okay follow me and you will see." I smiled. I took them over to the main barn where we walked up to a stall covered in balloons. A banner that said happy 5th birthday Sam. He could hardly hold in his excitement and was bouncing up and down. I slid open the stall door and his mouth fell open and his pretty blue eyes went wide. There stood Sam's first very own pony.

She was a little older pony around 18 but still running strong. She completely black except a white streak down her head. She was boom proof and I bought her with my own money.

"Happy Birthday buddy she's all yours," I said as he ran up and jumped on me with a bear hug.

"Thank you so much Sissy! I'm going to name her Teddy!" He squealed.

"Have you picked a stallion yet?" My dad turned his attention to me. It's a little late but my birthday present is I get to breed Foxy with whatever stallion I want.

"No not yet but I have a few in mind" I said giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"Well why don't you have June help you I gotta get ahold of Fred soon." He told me. I took one last look at Sam and Teddy then looked at June who was smiling at me.

"Come on I can show you my kittens too!" I smiled at her as we walked out.

"Uh I think my mom told me if a stranger ever offered me to see there kitties to run away for help but in this case I might want to see this girls kitty." She grinned at me. It took me a few moments to realize what she said and I stopped and looked at her wide eyed. I could feel the blush forming on my cheeks, I never blush what's going on! I ran up to her again leading her into my room, I can't believe this girl is as cocky as me!
