OPEN

I feel incredibly alive as I tell my friend on the phone I'm on my way

before a truck boulders down the street

OPEN

I hear loud beeps and voices

A bright florescent light blinds me as I fail to speak

the beeping speeds up with the beat of my heart

OPEN

I can't feel anything. I can't move. I hear crying, but I can't turn to look.

I stare at the popcorn ceiling, wordless again

OPEN

I can't move. I can't speak. I can't see anything but darkness.

No one says anything for what seems like forever

OPEN

I can barely hear a single voice whimper.

"Pull it."

Sounds of movement. Crying.

"Goodbye."

I feel myself fade away as my senses come back full force. I reach towards my friend, she looks old, pleading.

"Wait no-"

then the silence comes back. I can't do anything.
