Chapter Nine

Zoe Austin

"I'm engaged with Troy" there I finally said it happy?

Her jaw drops "Say what now?"

"Umm...what" she smacked my arm "Ow!" I rub my arm

"How?" Gabby asked

I told her the story on how I was engaged with Troy and she was happy in the end.

"Wow..." She trailed off "You're marrying the hottest guy in the campus" she stated

"But I don't want to" I mutter

"But you have to" she added

"Touché" I chuckle "But there's more" I scratch my head.

"What...you slept with him?" She asked

My eyes bulged out off its sockets "What?! No!!" I shake my head "I'm living with him in one house" I stated

"Shut up.." She looked shocked "When?"

"The day before you slept over" I whisper

"So he was already there when I was there?" She asked I nodded "Why didn't you tell me?"

I look down and leaned by the counter "I don't know....I didn't think he was an important part of my life" I said rubbing my face with my hands

"He is Zoe..he's your future husband" she paused "So give him a chance"

"I don't know...." She gave me those puppy eyes "Ugh...okay but you are not allowed to tell anything about this okay? Plus he doesn't like me okay?" She nodded "Good let's go" I unlocked the door and we went to our ways to class.

The lunch bell rang after my second period ended. I walked to the cafeteria still bummed that I left my lunch back at home.

I sat down across Gabby's seat and glared at the table.

"Geez. What happened to you?" Gabby asked while chewing her pizza

"I left my lunch" I muttered and crossed my arms making a silent tantrum.

Gabby snorted "Get a grip you're loaded buy some food" she said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

I scrunch up my nose "Mom will never allow that again...she wants me to eat what the chef's are making at home for me" I pause "Plus she says its more healthy to eat home cooked meals" I open my bag and grab my water bottle and drink.

She rolled her eyes "Geez. What a health freak"

I chuckle "Tell me about it"

Then Gabby's face went blank to excited "Zoe?"

"Yeah?"

"Nothing"

I roll my eyes "You're weird"

Then a paper bag was dropped in front if me and the chair beside me moved

I turn to look at the person and see Troy smiling.

Ugh that smile is so creepy

Oh shush! Its charming and you like it.

"Uh....." I look down at the paper bag and back at his gray eyes "What's this?"

"Oh! Its your lunch... a maid said you forgot it so I brought it to give it back to you" he said while scratching the back if his neck.

I literally heard Gabby's "aww" and I can feel warmth crawling all over my face.

"Gee...uhh..thanks" I open the bag and see my fish tacos and mango salsa I grab one if the tacos and take a bite out of it "Yum" I grab a spoon and scoop some mango salsa and eat it.
