Chapter Seven
Kale sighed as he walked up the steps, not really wanting to make Elliot go with him to get Colton. As soon as he made it to the door and raised his hand to knock, it swung open. In front of him stood and tired, in pain looking Elliot.
"I feel like shit," she spat out before turning around and walking up the stairs. Kale smirked a little before heading to the bathroom on the first floor and grabbing out her pain medicine. Elliot wasn't allowed to take any herself; that was her mother's rule, anyway.
Dumping two pills into his palm, Kale screwed the cap back on and walked out of the small bathroom. He grabbed Elliot a water from the fridge before heading upstairs and stopping in front of her door. He cleared his throat, not able to knock, before the door swung open.
"Elliot . . . " Kale slowly spoke, taking in her almost dressed body, "You aren't wearing any pants."
"I am well aware of that," she said, rolling her eyes and taking the pills from Kale. She popped them into her mouth and took a swig of the water before heading back into her room. Kale followed behind her when she waved him in, making him a little nervous.
She was half dressed . . . How else was he supposed to feel?
"Do I make you uncomfortable?" She asked, suddenly, while looking around at her bedroom floor. There were different pairs of pants scattered around, just laying in heaps. Elliot already had a tank top on and Kale figured she was looking for a specific pair of pants.
"No, I just . . . I guess I don't know what to make of you not wearing pants," he smirked to himself, playing with his hands. He was being careful not to look at Elliot; he didn't want to do anything stupid or think anything that might cause him to pitch a tent.
"You can't tell me you're a virgin and haven't seen a girl half dressed before. There have been so many rumors about you at school, sleeping around with different girls and doing different things," Elliot said, chewing on one of her fingernails and still looking around at the floor.
"What rumors?" Kale asked, furrowing his eyebrows as he looked up at Elliot's face. She smirked a little and held his gaze while telling him about a few that she'd heard recently.
"Well . . . There's the one about you and the head cheerleader. She said you were taking her to prom and you two already had sex in the school pool," Elliot shrugged before going back and looking for her pants.
"I actually don't have a date to prom," he admitted. "Plus, I didn't have sex with her in the pool at school. I've never actually even dated her. I don't even like her; she's too . . . anal about everything she does and her voice is really nasally. Quite frankly, it pisses me off."
"Okay," she smirked, laughing a little. "Then there was the one about you and your girlfriend from last year. The one you took to the homecoming dance in December."
"To be honest, the most I ever did with her was kiss her . . . and I only kissed her once, because I found out she used to give almost every guy on the football team oral when they won their games," Kale muttered, remembering how gross he thought she'd really been. "Besides, I dated her more out of pity than anything. The only good thing about her were her legs . . . but then she told me she liked she get spray tans and I was actually pretty grossed out. I didn't want to date an orange."
"I heard you and Libby Killinger used to have sex out on the cliff," she muttered before heading over to her closet and picking through it to find her pants.
